Two months ago this book was too filthy and slimy to touch, now it's ok since Oj isn't the one cashing in?
Yes, the family should be entitled to the profits of the book sales were they from OJ and his publisher doing the dirty work themselves as they tried to do. Instead the book is now being released by their publisher with some additional side notes added to it, which actually makes it a collaborative effort between the two parties does it not? Yes it does.
This arrangement to me seems more like profiteering by Ron and Nicole's families as much as it does OJ, as they are all now in bed together with OJ telling the story and the families publishing and profiting from it, using keeping the money away from OJ as their excuse to cash in.
The whole scenario makes me kind of uncomfortable and I'm betting Ron and Nicole might feel similarly.
Anybody who buys this book should have their heads examined. Will the Brown's and Goldman's or OJ be going on an OJ book tour too similar to the Seinfeld/ Kramer Fake Peterson Book Tour, Muffin Tops episode? I sure hope not.
I'm sure they won't and maybe I'm being a little hard and again, most will say if anyone gets any money from this deal it should be them and not OJ and I guess I agree with that too, but again it all smells bad to me, Why does anyone have to make money?
Agent Says Simpson Book to Be Published
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A literary agent for the family of stabbing victim Ronald Goldman has made a deal to repackage and publish O.J. Simpson's canceled "If I Did It" book about the slayings of Goldman and Simpson's ex-wife, a spokesman for the agent said Monday.Details of the agreement, including the name of the New York publishing house, will be released Tuesday, said Michael Wright, a spokesman for Los Angeles-based literary agent Sharlene Martin of Martin Literary Management.
"The family and publisher have pledged to leave Simpson's manuscript entirely intact, but they will also add key commentary," Wright said in a prepared statement. "The Goldmans, the publisher and Sharlene Martin will all contribute portions of sales proceeds to the Ron Goldman Foundation for Justice."
Wright declined further comment. Martin primarily represents self-help, nonfiction and memoir writers, including "You'll Never Nanny in This Town Again" author Suzanne Hansen, according to her Web site. continued
