A Decent Progress Report For Once

Ever since his siding against Bush on that terror interrogation issue back in September John McCain lost any support I may have considered giving him with my 2008 presidential vote. I am myself leaning towards Duncan Hunter although his prospects seam very slim as well I'm afraid. Even as a POW I still believe the measures in question on that bill fell way short of torture and he was forced to vote the way he did so as not to be called a hypocrite by the left had he voted otherwise because of his personal experience, showing little backbone in my opinion in taking a stand against the left he was afraid to alienate.

However, I still consider him to be a more reliable source of info on some issues regarding military decisions due to the price he paid as a Vietnam serviceman at the Hanoi Hilton than any reporter within the worldwide media establishment period regarding Iraq.

Particularly after that brutal unprofessionalism shown by Daily Kos cheerleading/ Cnn Shill Michael Ware last week, the newest and most popular left winger on the psycho circuit. If you need a brief refresher of th Click for You tube video and here for Hot Air's monday report of McCain and Wolf Bullshitzer talking about the heckling received last week.

Therefore his report card on the progress being made in Iraq which the left began discrediting and shredding ahead of it's full disclosure is news that I welcome, because if there's one thing we know now more than ever is this.

If the radical left wing climbs aboard riding anybody on a rail like they have McCain on this report of his that Michael Ware ripped him on itself lends credibility to his claims and believability more than anything.

So here's his report in an Op-Ed in the Washington Post this morning:

The War You're Not Reading About -John McCain -

Washingtonpost.com: "I just returned from my fifth visit to Iraq since 2003 -- and my first since Gen. David Petraeus's new strategy has started taking effect. For the first time, our delegation was able to drive, not use helicopters, from the airport to downtown Baghdad. For the first time, we met with Sunni tribal leaders in Anbar province who are working with American and Iraqi forces to combat al-Qaeda."
skip ahead:
I went to Iraq to gain a firsthand view of the progress in this difficult war, not to celebrate any victories. No one has been more critical of sunny progress reports that defied realities in Iraq. In 2003, after my first visit, I argued for more troops to provide the security necessary for political development. full op ed here
