Nancy Pelosi's Power Trip

I blogged about this story a week ago and it still continues to fly quietly under the radar as the only news organization reporting on this demand for a full sized Air Force luxury airliner (just like the one pictured and retouched by me to the left) to use on her trips around the US and world for friends and family as well is the Washington Times.

Below are some choice excerpts of their article keeping tabs on her abuse of power this morning...........

Pelosi's Push For Jet Remains Up In The Air

The Washington Times, America's Newspaper: "The Bush administration has agreed to provide House Speaker Pelosi with regular access to an Air Force passenger jet, but the two sides are negotiating whether she will get the big aircraft she wants and who she may take as passengers, according to congressional and administration sources.

A congressional source said that Rep. John P. Murtha, chairman of House Appropriations subcommittee on defense, which controls the Pentagon's spending, has telephoned administration officials to urge them to give the speaker what she wants.
The congressional source said Pentagon officials complained that Mr. Murtha, Pennsylvania Democrat, is accusing them of sexism for not immediately heeding her request.
Megan E. Grote, Mr. Murtha's press secretary, said, "Mr. Murtha absolutely never said anything about being 'sexist.' We have no further comment."

Minority Whip Roy Blunt of Missouri called it a "flying Lincoln Bedroom," and Rep. Patrick T. McHenry, North Carolina Republican, labeled the speaker's plane Pelosi One.

"This is a bullet point to a larger value Pelosi's abuse of power continues," Mr. McHenry said yesterday. "It began when the speaker denied minority rights to Republicans, continued with her 'TunaGate' scandal, and now she's exploiting America's armed forces and taxpayers for her own personal convenience."

Mr. Hastert used an Air Force commuter-type jet to travel to and from his district. Mr. Hastert gained the access for security reasons after the September 11, 2001, attacks. Previously, the House speaker, who is second in the line of succession to the presidency, used commercial flights for such trips. complete story

This is an incredible waste of our taxpayer money, not to mention the added emissions her little jaunts will create for the environment , and from the leader of the party that cries endlessly about global warming, George Bush's supposed neglect of environmental issues and the US's refusal to sign on to Kyoto. Just like Al Gore on his little global warming tour on a private jet crossing the country and world for that matter lecturing us about the total fallacy of global warming I blogged about and photoshopped about here.

These Flaming Frigging hypocrites never stop slapping the American people in the face with their elitist "do as we say and not as we do" attitudes....

Below you will see my message to Mr Waxman in it's entirety sent via the internet yesterday:

Dear Chairman Waxman:

I am writing you as a concerned taxpayer that is very upset with the New Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi immediately taking privilege and abuse of taxpayer monies to new amazing heights..(pun intended).

This of coarse arises with her brazen demand of use of government owned and operated aircraft above and beyond the magnitude granted to any member of congress previously and nearly rivaling the privilege extended only to our commander in chief that she and the other democrats despise so much..

And as if that wasn't enough, use of Military aircraft and security provided by the members of this proud group of men and women that she and her democratic congressional members spit and wizz on at every available opportunity.

I am a blogger who has watched this situation with more attention than is being payed by the left leaning main stream media who has left this episode completely untouched thereby protecting Speaker Pelosi from the deserved ridicule that she would receive if she were a member of the Republican party most certainly.

Please give this issue the attention it deserves and limit Speaker Pelosi to the use of the same aircraft that Speaker Hastert made due with and under the same guidelines to which he adhered to since the implemation of this somewhat understandable perk but yet not to be abused as she is attempting to do.
