Woke up yesterday and turned on our local Fox morning show and a local radio station WLUP was holding a contest for two tickets to the Superbowl, here's what happened.....
Daily Herald | News: "An early morning idea by a confident father is taking one Lake County family to the Super Bowl.Sometimes skipping school can pay off, not always but this time it did.
Jim Miller saw a television promotion around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday for a field goal kicking contest sponsored by 97.9 FM The Loop from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. that day outside the United Center in Chicago.
Immediately he thought of his sleeping son, Jimmy.
'He was waking me up talking about a competition and I didn't believe him,' Jimmy said. 'But I realized it was really happening so I got dressed and we headed down there.'
The Carmel High School sophomore kicked 60 consecutive 19-yard field goals, winning two tickets to the Super Bowl. That's 32 more goals than the second-place contestant and dozens more than most of the 150 participants."
