It seems that, according to the statistics from the Justice Department cited below in the article, the "brutally inhumane" conditions that many poor inmates have to endure in our hellhole US prisons as they are often described by the left wing do-gooders really have a measurable effect on the mortality rate of those who are supposed to be unfortunate to have been imprisoned.

Many of they on the left for starters will say the article, the study as well as the statistics it cites are racist because the prison population is disproportionately minority meaning black and hispanic, so the white men performing the study are comparing the imprisoned to an already lower than normal mortality rate to begin with, thus rendering the findings useless or some other lengthy and worthless argument against the man.

I can hear them now chanting some nifty little slogan while these groups and their misguided members and supporters are marching at the next scheduled execution wherever that is gonna be saying stuff similar to this....

"Tookie is innocent, the white man is 2 percent, the next one is Fifty-Cent, thats if we protesters relent, Power To The People etc etc...."..........

Inmates in state prisons are dying at an average yearly rate of 250 per 100,000, according to the latest figures reported to the Justice Department by state prison officials. By comparison, the overall population of people between age 15 and 64 is dying at a rate of 308 a year.

For black inmates, the rate was 57 percent lower than among the overall black population - 206 versus 484. But white and Hispanic prisoners both had death rates slightly above their counterparts in the overall population." Read more

to another interesting tidbit of information that is very well known but ignored by the left and MSM. The fact that the state prison inmates all receive gratis a prison version of a Blue Cross Full Medical Coverage Plan, the equivalent prison health plan that even the most studious and crime free citizens in America would be barely able or unable entirely to afford even the lowest of coverages they may offer.

State prison officials reported that 94 percent of their inmates who died from an illness had been evaluated by a medical professional for that illness, and 93 percent got medication for it.

Eighty-nine percent of these inmates had gotten X-rays, MRI exams, blood tests and other diagnostic work, state prison officials told the bureau.

How nice, a health plan for the worst of the worst! No wonder they live longer nowadays than the general population. If they get sick they get treatment immediately and some even treatment unavailable to the fully insured while regular law abiding every day Americans out there, do not for reasons too plentiful to be enumerated here, but you can read as many as you want in this google Search.

Furthermore, I'm willing to bet the farm that many of the illegals in our prisons have put themselves there to receive this very benefit for diseases they currently carry that if left untreated in their home countries would kill them eventually, along with some free education and whatever else they can grab while on the US Gravy Train.
