The president's speech last night offers really nothing new other than confirmation that he will be sending more troops eventually to Iraq in order to implement a "now or never" type pressure on the Iraqi's, basically telling them get to either with the program with the additional help of a burst in firepower or suffer the grave consequences. In other words they get one more try at our way, or time will have run out and the Dems will finally be able to implement their own non-plan which we all know is this:
Withdrawal of American troops flowered up with frilly dem-speak like redeployment, realignment, whatever phrase their focus groups show is more tough sounding and yet attempts to hide their true intent, and that is hopefully declaring George Bush's experiment a failure and then hoping we will vote for them and their ideas for the next 20 years. That's the Democratic strategy at play here, their short term gain at all costs with no eye on what failure in this war will mean for the future here.
Another interesting moment last night for me was in the rebuttal speech delivered by our very own troop disparaging Illinois dim demwad,.... Senator Dick Turban Durbin. This was for me the first time in my recollection that the democrats are actually demanding that a group of people (The Iraqi's in this case) rely on their own hard work, ingenuity and grit gaining independence of governmental assistance in order to move forward. Or, big brother's or daddy's purse strings are closing and the party is over.
He was saying there is no blank check to be delivered, no open end commitment, no more hand-me-downs available, no more pick-me-ups, no big daddy government to depend on any more!
Strangely, this is everything that he and his party promise to deliver to any person anytime and all the time within these borders, (at least semi borders) like New Orleans for instance and just about anywhere around the world for that matter, except for these poor Iraqi's in Iraq. That's because their plight is George Bush's problem but not their baby according to their pretzel logic, so they don't really care if the Iraqi's succeed at standing on their own or not, just as long as they are the ones that do not get the blame if it fails but get the credit if it doesn't.
So what we have is a bunch of liberals telling people in dire need of our assistance half way around the world on the U.S. government payrolls per say to stop being liberals and get their asses in gear!! Strange little twist of reality that Senator Turban and his colleagues figured we average Americans are just too stupid to have extrapolated from his ridiculous speech following the President last night.
Sadly, and inadvertently through this invasion what we seem to have in a way done is created a whole country of arabic liberal democrats that are sitting around waiting for big government (ours and the Iraqi government) to solve all their problems for them, and yet that behavior is unacceptable to liberal American politicians! Go figure that one out.
