Last time the Bears where in the Super Bowl they did this on the spur of the moment, made the Helmets out of weber grills, (photos) they were pretty cool and they fit. This time, they plan the thing out, build these high-tech NEW & IMPROVED helmets and make this big deal about installing them yesterday and guess what?

Superstitious fans gulped Tuesday at the sight of a not quite big enough Bears helmet, designed for the bronze lion statues outside The Art Institute of Chicago, cracking and breaking.
Gary Heitz, a project manager for Chicago Scenic Studios, said the plastic seemed flexible enough in the studio to fit around those big leonine ears, but grew brittle in the frigid air.
