Iraq War Produces Another of The Beloved "Milestones" The Media and Left Celebrate

As my headline states, the "milestone" the left and the media clamp onto today is that the Iraq war dead American Soldiers toll now equals then surpasses the 9-11 death toll. What exactly is this number supposed to mean?

Why does the media celebrate the 1000th death, or the 200oth death or now the Past 9-11 toll number? Number 999, 0r number 2 , 3 or 2999 are any less meaningful to them? I do not recall any headlines stating death toll in Iraq reaches 1638..or 1856 etc etc. That just demonstrates how stupid it is to even make a pronouncement of any particular number, other than the media providing anti war protesters another round little benchmark to use on their blogs and liberal politicians to use in their seemingly pro Al Queda propaganda speeches daily.

To me the one and only headline should read and would read as follows were I in charge of any media outlet other than this blog :

America Now Has 3000 More Reasons to Nuke The Middle East Yesterday And Win This War on Terror Tomorrow.

Now that's more like it. But instead we get the following headline and story (with no pictures of burning towers mind you, so I'll just add those to remind everyone why we're there.

U.S. Toll in Iraq Surpasses That of 9/11

UsMy Way News BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - At least 36 Iraqis died Tuesday in bombings, officials said, including a coordinated strike that killed 25 in western Baghdad. Separately, the deaths of six U.S. soldiers pushed the American toll beyond the number of victims in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

The three coordinated car bombs in western Baghdad injured at least 55 people, a doctor at Yarmouk hospital, where the victims were taken, said on condition of anonymity because of safety concerns. The attacks occurred in a mixed Sunni and Shiite neighborhood.

In separate attacks, a bomb exploded in a central Baghdad market, killing four people and wounding 15 others, police said. Two roadside bombs targeted an Iraqi police patrol in an eastern neighborhood of the capital, killing four policemen and injuring 12 people. read more
