Yesterday on Christmas Eve the Bears were lucky to escape from Detroit with not only their wallets, but a win too (lol?) as they jumped out to an early lead, went in at halftime, returned as if they forgot they were playing a football game and let the Lions score some quick points letting them take the lead into the 4th quarter.
If not for some miscues on the Lions behalf, something they've done all too well this season, and the almost perfect kicking of the Bears All-Pro Robbie Gould they end up losing to the worst team in pro football going into the playoffs. Not good.

Bears rally in fourth quarter to edge Lions
From ChicagoBears.com: A mismatch on paper turned out to be much closer than anticipated before the Bears finally escaped with a 26-21 comeback victory over the Detroit Lions Sunday at Ford Field. Robbie Gould’s field goals of 36, 39 and 44 yards in the fourth quarter enabled the Bears to improve to 13-2, matching their victory total from 2001.
The 39-yarder came with 5:13 remaining and capped a 12-play, 72-yard drive that was engineered by backup quarterback Brian Griese. But Robbie Gould’s field goals of 36, 39 and 44 yards on three fourth-quarter possessions lifted the NFC North champion Bears (13-2) to their fourth straight victory and sent the reeling Lions (2-13) to their seventh consecutive defeat.“We were expecting a tough business trip and that’s exactly what we got,” said coach Lovie Smith. “(Lions coach) Rod Marinelli is doing a heck of a job getting his troops ready. They fought right up until the end. We knew it would be a dogfight and that’s what it ended up being.”
