Yesterday Al Gore linked in a speech at the UN- global warming to smoking, as hard as that is to believe, (even from from a complete dumb fu%^ like he.) And if you believe that BS, I have two slightly damaged towers for sale in lower manhattan near the Brooklyn bridge.
Lets get this straight,Al Gore is more worried about the smoke eminating from cigarettes burning throughout the world than he is about, for starters:
(A)waking up free tomorrow in a country that many want to destroy if it were possible for them to do which it may soon be?
(B) or getting the world's homsexual community to practice safe sex with one another so as to not infect more heterosexual people on the planet with aids they so freely distribute amongst their communities with their unhealthy sexual behavior? Instead of asking the rest of the world (meaning the US for the most part) to foot the astronimcal bill keeping the poor sufferers of this disease alive at enormous expense for yet another disease that for the most part is totally preventable as are the diseases from smokers...absolutely.
.....the rest of the alphabet would be a waste of everyone's time.

One thing that smoking bans have done in my state of Illinois, nearby Minnesota and across the US for that matter is cause many small businesses to either shut their doors or contemplate such action after being forced to turn away smokers. Although in the big cities like Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs implementing similar bans those financial losses can be mitigated due to the large populations, the rural areas' small entertainment businesses cannot cope with this forced big brother type legislation.
This can be seen in a snapshot of the distress in one small Illinois town and it's home county by the web site link provided below spelling out what Al Gore type alarmism and similar goofball do gooder actions are doing to small businesses all over the country telling adults what they can and cannot do.
Congress.org: "Following are actual statistics reflecting examples of the negative impact upon individual businesses following the recently instituted smoking ban ordinances, effective in Springfield, Illinois and surrounding unincorporated Sangamon County this September 15, 2006 (less than two weeks ago).
When small businesses account for about two-thirds of our country's economic growth and new jobs, it is difficult to comprehend elected officials' reasoning in voting to implement an intrusive ordinance which will hurt those same business owners.
A restaurant owner who does not permit smoking will see it as a violation of his property rights if a coalition uses the political arena to create legislation forcing him to permit smoking. It is no less a property rights violation in reverse. If a restaurant owner wishes to permit smoking, he might put up a “Smoking Permitted” sign and let potential patrons decide whether they wish to enter. Similarly, if an owner doesn’t permit smoking, he might put up a “No Smoking” sign and again let the customers decide.
SNAPSHOT OF SMOKING BAN IMPACT ON BARS & BOWLING CENTERS IN SPRINGFIELD AND UNINCORPORATED SANGAMON COUNTY:
D.H. Browns—business down more than 50% "
- The last time Brown’s had a Monday as low as the first Monday of the ban was 8 years ago during a snowstorm.
- Brown’s will likely have to lay off their doormen—on top of the lost employment, this will increase the chances of underage drinkers violating the law.
- Two (2) waitresses informed management that they will have to give their notice and try to get a job in one of the neighboring communities that permit smoking because they are no longer making any money. read of many more here
