Frist Wants Vote on Immigration Bill....

...and he is not the only one, of that you can be sure. As you see below and in my sidebar, the banner inserted in this post will take you to another of Bill Frist's political action movements administered by VOLPAC, his political action committee. In addition to secureamerica'sborders.com we are also actively working on another badly needed piece of senatorial legislative action, that being the permanent confirmation of John Bolton as our Ambassador to the UN. Both have been disrupted and delayed by the usual democrats and suprisingly some turncoat republicans as well.

Secure America's Borders

But this post is focusing on this weeks senatorial agenda which we hope includes the much needed border fence action earlier passed by the house that this country cannot afford to put off for another day.

Here's what Matt Margolis, of Blogs For Bush & GOP Bloggers had to say about the movement.
* "To help defeat this filibuster, VOLPAC has launched a new project called www.SecureAmericasBorders.com, which operates the same way as BloggingForBolton.com. It's got a phone bank, and web banners for bloggers to show their support. And of course, it has it's own blogroll!

Let's have the conservative blogosphere flex its muscles once again to help secure our borders!"

As Mr Margolis and the article below points out, time is short on this legislature and Bill Frist with our help is hoping this vote will be pushed to the floor and executed successfully this week, for who knows what may happen in the next session. They haven't gotten jack done here as we know to well, and the damn Republicans are driving the bus. This issue as well as some others truly cannot wait any longer, as we don't need a repeat of the ugly and disruptive strong armed attempts by the illegals to take over our country's streets shoving their "woe is we poor workers" agenda down our throats as they did somewhat successfully this past spring and summer.

So please be so kind as to visit the site or just blog a post this week and tell some friends "let's get the word out", for we know the Main Stream Media isn't going to bother. We know who's side they are on, and sadly for America it's not ours.

This bill is not the cure all that many of us were hoping for for this illegal immigration problem, but it is a step in the right direction and at least something more than we now have, 700 miles of fences, this one 2 layered along with some other regulations tossed in.

My Way News - Frist Wants Vote on Immigration Bill: "WASHINGTON (AP) - Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist on Sunday said he wants a Senate vote soon on an immigration bill focusing primarily on border security, but acknowledged that quick passage is doubtful.

Frist, R-Tenn., said he's willing to push ahead with the bill favored by House Republicans, which is narrower than the version he and other senators favor. Even so, action may not be possible before the November elections, he said.

'If you're going to address immigration reform, you have to first and foremost secure our borders,' he said on ABC's 'This Week.''What I've done, and hopefully what we'll be voting on the floor of the Senate this week, is take the common parts of the House bill and the common parts of the Senate bill.'"

In December, the House passed legislation that concentrated on border security and enforcement of laws banning employment of undocumented workers. The Senate in May then passed a broader bill, generally endorsed by President Bush, that included provisions for a guest worker program and ways for the nation's estimated 12 million illegal immigrants to work toward legal status and eventual citizenship.

There's been no progress in efforts to reconcile the two bills.

With no prospects this year for passing broader immigration changes favored by the Senate, House GOP leaders said taking action to seal the border was a matter of urgency. But some lawmakers such as Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., have said he's not sure immigration could be addressed "on a piecemeal basis."

On Sunday, Frist said he would like to move forward with some kind of legislation as a first step if his opponents in Congress can get beyond election-year partisanship.

"I think the Democrats right now in this political season, they are obstructing everything," he said.
