Day 51, Obama's BP Spill in comparison to known others in size....graphic

This was surprising to me as I recall the Wacky Iraqi Saddam Hussein, ordered by GW hunted and killed cutting loose those oil wells during the gulf war that super fire fighter, the late, great, American legend Red Adair was called in as the 'only man on the planet' who could close those fiery wells up...

But I didn't realize the size of it all, as it makes BP look like a 'Slick Willie' DNA Slick on the oval office carpeting in comparison, but don't tell the people down in Louisiana it's 'no big deal'.
Truthfully, I happen to believe it's a lot more than they've told us but, who knows and how? It's sure 'raging away as you can see in the sidebar leak cam >>>

Graphic and more stats on the spill from "oil spill timeline" found here.

These are some pics of this thing overnight, and it doesn't look like it's being captured too much to my eyes...

Blackhawks take game 1 in NHL finals against Philly 6 to 5

click pic for Hawks website for details from the game

100th consecutive sellout at he Hawks game which had 11 goals total, a very tense and yet enjoyable game for this Hawks fan watching this one at home.

In a brief synopsis, there were 5 quick goals already by the end of the first period, and at the end of 2 periods 10 goals had already been scored, leaving the Hawks with 5 and the Flyers with 5.

The Hawks came back to score the go ahead goal quickly in the 3rd midway through the period for good, giving them the final 6-5 win.

Game 2 is Monday night at 7 pm right back at the United Center, Memorial day, where the unparalleled 'Blackhawks National Anthem' will be heard round the world as a tribute to the soldiers past and present who gave and give their lives for our freedoms

Just like it was the day it started, when I myself was here below at the Chicago Stadium during Christmastime, at the 1991 NHL All Star game, when a salute to all the soldiers off fighting the Gulf War was then 'heard half way around the world' by us and I'm sure will be exceeded on Memorial day.

The first time the Blackhawks have EVER played this late in the season.

God Bless them all, meaning the soldiers, not the Blackhawks. I mean, I'm a fan but I don't bother God with prayers for sporting events I'm afraid..

Long Lost American Hero Returns Home Today (Video)

Today Captain Scott Speicher's KIA remains have returned to American Soil to be given the send off and honors he and his still mourning family deserve after almost 2 decades of uncertainty and angst...

A Speicher family spokesman said "they are appreciative" and no doubt relieved as much as any family can be in this sad story any way it's sliced.

Here's the Governor of his home state of Florida issued and said upon the soldier's return as well.

Governor Charlie Crist has directed all State and National flags shall be flown at half-staff in Duval County, in the City of Jacksonville and in front of the State Capitol on August 14, 2009, in honor of Captain Scott Speicher.

Speicher's remains landed in Jacksonville today more than 18 years after he was shot down over Iraq in the Gulf war.

He is yet another brave uniformed reminder why removing Saddam Hussein from power while difficult was necessary and only made possible thanks to the blood sweat tears of men and women like again Capt. Scott Speicher, who both gave and today go on giving their lives fighting the evil around the world on our behalf, keeping us both safe and free.
