US judge denies stay on drill ban ruling | Reuters

So far so good on the lifting of the drilling ban as the judge shoots 'em down again today, which is met from the left with cries of "he's got oil investments" when as far as I'm concerned, anyone with a mutual fund or IRA has some also, not to mention those big globs of steel most people have at least one of in a driveway, parking garage or what have you is an oil investment as well, if you really think about it.

You buy that car, you're investing in the oil industry, because you'll be paying them thousands and thousands of dollars a year until you either sell it, smash it or kill it.

Some tens of thousands. Oil investment.

There's a good comment thread at Newsvine which I find to veer left (but this one's ok) on Judge Feldman's so called 'conflict of interest'. I was actually laughing typing those three words btw.

June 24 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge refused on Thursday to put on hold his decision blocking the federal government from enforcing its six-month ban on deepwater oil drilling after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman in New Orleans rejected the Obama administration's request to stay his decision that allowed deepwater drilling to resume. The Interior Department suspended drilling after the ruptured BP Plc (BP.L) (BP.N) well began gushing oil into the Gulf more than two months ago.

Fifteen hours after the Justice Department appealed Feldman's ruling and requested a stay pending that appeal, Feldman issued a brief order denying the request for the same reasons he gave in his Tuesday decision.

In that opinion, Feldman strongly criticized the Obama administration's moratorium, saying that it was "indeed punitive" because it was too broad, arbitrary and was not adequately justified given the impact on thousands of oil industry workers and on local communities.
The Obama administration can still ask the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit -- also based in New Orleans -- for a stay as it seeks the appeal there.

Administration officials have defended the six-month moratorium as necessary to provide time to investigate the cause of the BP oil well spill and to ensure that other wells being drilled below 500 feet (152 meters) of water are safe.UPDATE 1-US judge denies stay on drill ban ruling | Reuters

Obama's War Against Governor Jindahl Doing Barry's Job Continues as 'Obumble' Halts Berm Dredging

The proof is mounting that Obama's in control alright, in control of allowing this crisis to continue until they can extract whatever they're seeking from it's continuance since they're not interested in allowing the LA governor to make Obummer look bad as he's continued to do.

They just approved it on June 2nd.

WDSU New Orleans NEW ORLEANS -- The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.

The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.

Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, who was one of the most vocal advocates of the dredging plan, has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, pleading for the work to continue.

Nungesser said the government has asked crews to move the dredging site two more miles farther off the coastline.

"Once again, our government resource agencies, which are intended to protect us, are now leaving us vulnerable to the destruction of our coastline and marshes by the impending oil," Nungesser wrote to Obama. "Furthermore, with the threat of hurricanes or tropical storms, we are being put at an increased risk for devastation to our area from the intrusion of oil.

Nungesser has asked for the dredging to continue for the next seven days, the amount of time it would take to move the dredging operations two miles and out resume work.

Work is scheduled to halt at midnight Wednesday.

If this isn't proof that Obama and BP are actually in 'collusion' to allow this crisis to worsen nothing is.

Obama and his henchmen have fought the Louisiana government and Bobby Jindahl since the very beginning of this 'intentional' spill which I believe was allowed to happen to push the agenda as we've discovered along the way that BP is one Obama's 'Cap and Trade' partners

BP Obama has just been putting a 'show' for the world as they allowed the blowout to happen
it's become more obvious now than it's ever been during the entire 65 day, contrived crisis.

Why else has not a single recommendation sent to BP from the public at large, 80,000 submissions, not been viable nor used to 'plug the damn hole' and I don't mean Obama's pie hole or Lady Gaga's public holes either.

Because the 'powers that be' aren't interested in stopping it quickly or they would have done it. Nor do they seem to interested in mitigating the damages as we now know they don't care, they want to exploit this as an excuse to run over the voters and LA indigenous population to usher in trillions of dollars of profits in the so called 'greening of America'.

They hold many of the patents and since the 'global warming train' crashed they needed another way and quick.

I'll bet Obama spent more time taking a 'dump' this morning than he did with these people who he hasn't met with nor even talked to once until now.

With all the BS he has to force out of both ends each day, that's at the very least a 20 minute visit twice a day for him.

Contrarily, if I was running this thing for America like I ran printing companies on 2 separate occasions which gives even me more executive experience than Obama, BP would have an office in the White House until it was fixed, in the freaking basement, right between the Cheney Hurricane Machine and Bin Laden's room for you far- lefties reading this. (actually, calling them 'far left' is like the difference between radical and moderate Muslim....there is no difference, just sounds better for the PC afflicted)

POLITICO.com Oil giant BP has agreed to finance a $20 billion escrow fund to pay claims to people who lost income in the Gulf Coast oil spill, an administration source told POLITICO Wednesday.

Lawyer Kenneth Feinberg, who was in charge of payments to families of victims of the 9/11 attacks, will oversee the fund, the source said.

The news came as President Barack Obama finally had his showdown with top executives of BP Wednesday. The White House had announced over the weekend that it would press the company to set up a fund, which would be administered by a third party, to pay what is expected to be billions of dollars in damage claims from people and businesses up and down the Gulf Coast.

It was Obama's first face-to-face meeting with BP CEO Tony Hayward and board chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, despite his four trips to the Gulf Coast. They met as the White House demands that BP create a third-party administered compensation fund to pay out claims filed by residents and business owners in the region.

The six BP executives arrived at the White House around 10 a.m. and were still inside after noon.

I guess this is all 'above his pay grade' as well which gave me an idea this morning.

Everyone else gets paid for results in this world, how about Obama doesn't collect his check until the people being decimated by this 'never waste a crisis" spill can collect theirs.....which Obama uncovered his 'real' motive for the world to see last night.

I have a much easier time believing this so called 'oil spill' has been allowed to drag on to move Obama's agenda and nothing more than 911 being a set up. Obama doesn't have to do anything but 'act' like he's doing something which is what he's been doing in between golf rounds.

Pretending, in fact he's been doing that since he was elected.

You're gonna tell me we can't plug a pipe a mile down in the ocean? IF they really cared they would just drop a 50 ton block of cement over it and close it up for good, but they're not doing that because BP wants to 'save the plumbing' down there which cost millions and years of work and Obama doesn't mind because he's exploiting it for all it's worth. Period.

By the way...I sent BP a 'stop leak' proposal 2 weeks ago and just got this earlier this morning which I didn't post 'then' because I didn't want anyone stealing it just in case of the remote possibility they did want to use it :

To give you an idea, the barrels needed to clean up the Obama BP spill would hold 39 million gallons of crude, which would require 780,000 50 gallon drums at 3 feet across reaching 2,340,000 ft when divided by 5280 feet per mile comes to a line of barrels which would stretch 443 miles of 50 gallon drums.

That's enough barrels of crude stacked side by side to make a trip from DC to NYC and back once. 201 each way as the crow flies..('member that?)

That's beyond brutal and I'm the one who figured that by the way. Not hijacked elsewhere.

Not to mention as I we said, we now have fisherman already coming in ill from this shit that they're spreading like poison that could kill the entire ocean off for all they know.

So far, BP has told federal agencies that it has applied more than 400,000 gallons of a dispersant sold under the trade name Corexit and manufactured by Nalco Co., whose current leadership includes executives from BP and Exxon.

And another 805,000 gallons of Corexit are on order, the company said, with the possibility that hundreds of thousands of more gallons may be needed if the well continues spewing oil for weeks or months. [source NY Times]

They've never used this in this quantity and the real reason they're using it is to hide the spill and hope it somehow dissipates underwater and millions of dead fish don't come washing ashore.

That's the only plan other than to clean it up as it comes ashore and we've seem what that looks like from the Valzdez.

They've already hired 20,000 employees. There's Obama's job plan for you huh? It's going to take 5 times that easily to clean this mess up as it comes to shore and if it bankrupts BP nobody gets nothing and we get stuck with the bill so lawsuit filing folks need to keep that in mind as they rightfully I might add try to do exactly that.

However BP said this and they're right: "BP is very important to the American people and it's economy".

Touché on that thanks to liberals preventing drilling on land and now canceling all exploration as the markets flipped out ten minutes later.

What a buffoon.

He doesn't know how wield power unless he's doing it against Americans almost.

First moving pictures of BP oil leak | 10 Mile Oil Plume...

This sure is some ugly video seeing this oil gushing out of its broken pipe crevice on the ocean floor , even for all we "right wing radicals" who supposedly don't care about the environment just  because we knew  all along global warming was a scam. (we were all recently vindicated by truth of the longtime scorn from the left ....once again).

Back to this situation, one would think they'd have some type of cement/epoxy glue- like compound made just for this type of occurrence sitting on a shelf somewhere or in a "break glass in emergency" box  to pipe down to the hole, forcing a smaller diameter tube into the bigger hole and force the cement to fill the hole around it.

They tried a similar thing yesterday but they were talking about plugging it with golf balls and other kinds of garbage which also didn't work yesterday along with the Cement Box Idea which failed due to ice formation as the box was lowered 5000 feet down on the ocean floor.

You WOULD THINK THEY WOULD have something like that already made just for this reason waiting to be used.

And now this news comes today they've located oil plumes, one of them apparently up to 10 miles long.

NEW YORK - Scientists are finding enormous oil plumes in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, including one as large as 10 miles long, 3 miles wide and 300 feet thick. The discovery is fresh evidence that the leak from the broken undersea well could be substantially worse than estimates that the government and BP have given. 

“There’s a shocking amount of oil in the deep water, relative to what you see in the surface water,” said Samantha Joye, a researcher at the University of Georgia who is involved in one of the first scientific missions to gather details about what is happening in the gulf. “There’s a tremendous amount of oil in multiple layers, three or four or five layers deep in the water column.”  more at the New York Times via MSNBC..

I am personally aghast that these so called "brilliant minds" need you and me to come up with a trillion dollar golden clean up or plug up goose as if they're exhausted out of ideas already! We're all supposed to be "flyover rubes and rednecks".
