Clinton Defends Byrd's KKK Ties: "He Was Trying To Get Elected"

I was once a country boy from the hills of Greenville SC and Charlottesville Va but I didn't know anyone in the clan, especially ones using their affiliation to get elected? What, in 1905? Either way, that's no excuse.

I'm for Caucasian's standing up for themselves and being proud of most of our heritage, but not in 'their' way and at the despicable expense of others.

No race of people is better than any other, it's all about education, and now with the internet ,no one has an excuse to be ignorant of those facts.

WASHINGTON — The White House says President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Charleston, W.Va., on Friday to attend memorial services for Sen. Robert Byrd.

Byrd died Monday at age 92. The West Virginia Democrat was the longest-serving senator in history.

Byrd's body will lie in repose inside the U.S. Senate chamber on Thursday before being flown to West Virginia for a public funeral on Friday.

We unlike many liberals don't take pleasure in seeing the opposition's top representatives sick as they did openly as Tony Snow was dying of cancer as they've excoriated others on their death beds as well.

No, in this case with one of their top flight worst of the worst criminals in congressional history, who's greatest achievements featured a proud stint as a grand Kleagle of the KKK, we'll wait and see what happens here with Senator Robert "Sheets" Byrd and report back later as more information surfaces about what put him there.

Perhaps it's massive guilt for shafting the American people all his life right through to his possible death bed, who knows....that is of course aside from his closest 'sheet wearing' confidants, who are understandably keeping quiet down at the Klan headquarters this afternoon preparing for the loss of a great leader to them.

Sen. Robert Byrd, the longest-serving member of Congress, was admitted to a Washington-area hospital last week and is considered "seriously ill," according to a statement released today by his office.

Byrd, 92, was admitted to the hospital after "suffering from what was believed to be heat exhaustion and severe dehydration as a result of the extreme temperatures," according to the statement. "However, upon further examination by his doctors, other conditions have developed which has resulted in his condition being described as 'serious.' "

In November, Byrd broke the record for congressional service that had been set by Democrat Carl Hayden of Arizona, who served in the House and Senate from 1912 to 1969, according to the Associated Press. Byrd began his career in Washington in 1952 with his election to the House. His elevation to the Senate came six years later.
