Gee, now Obama can take it easy and relax, head out to the golf course and enjoy himself after the 86 days with no sleep barricaded in the White House working 26 hours a day 'pluggin the damn hole' for his little daughter.

We'll hope and pray this holds, as we know damn well the dems pray it does, so it doesn't interfere with the elections as it didn't have the 'intended effect' when they let the spill 'escalate and accelerate', in hopes everyone would jump on the Alinsky -Emmanuel/Obama 'never waste a crisis' dogma, demanding an end to the era of 'big oil' and usher in the 'tax-cap and trade 'era of not 'robber barons' but 'Climate Barons' like BP, and Al the climate whore rapist Gore.

Instead, what we have here is yet another monumental leftist 'false flag' failure to heap on top of their hoped for wealth distribution mechanism 'Climate Scam 101' and will make due with the Obamacare redistribution they've 'gotten past the Goalie' by distracting 'the referee' per se..

News: "NEW ORLEANS – Oil stopped gushing into the Gulf of Mexico from BP's busted well Thursday for the first time since the disastrous spill began, the oil giant said. It was the most significant milestone yet in BP's effort to control one of the worst environmental disasters in U.S. history.

Now begins a waiting period to see if the cap can hold the oil without blowing a new leak in the well. Engineers will monitor pressure readings incrementally for up to 48 hours before reopening the cap while they decide what to do next. The cap is only planned as a temporary fix until a final plug is set from underground, maybe next month.

The news elicited joy mixed with skepticism from Gulf Coast residents wearied by months of false starts, setbacks and failures. Alabama Gov. Bob Riley's face lit up when he heard the oil flow had stopped.

'That's great. I think a lot of prayers were answered today,' said Riley.

In Washington, President Barack Obama said the success was a 'positive sign.' But he added, 'We're still in the testing phase.'

The stoppage came 85 days, 16 hours and 25 minutes after the first report April 20 of an explosion on the BP-leased Deepwater Horizon oil rig that killed 11 workers and triggered the spill.

US judge denies stay on drill ban ruling | Reuters

So far so good on the lifting of the drilling ban as the judge shoots 'em down again today, which is met from the left with cries of "he's got oil investments" when as far as I'm concerned, anyone with a mutual fund or IRA has some also, not to mention those big globs of steel most people have at least one of in a driveway, parking garage or what have you is an oil investment as well, if you really think about it.

You buy that car, you're investing in the oil industry, because you'll be paying them thousands and thousands of dollars a year until you either sell it, smash it or kill it.

June 24 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge refused on Thursday to put on hold his decision blocking the federal government from enforcing its six-month ban on deepwater oil drilling after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman in New Orleans rejected the Obama administration's request to stay his decision that allowed deepwater drilling to resume. The Interior Department suspended drilling after the ruptured BP Plc (BP.L) (BP.N) well began gushing oil into the Gulf more than two months ago.

Fifteen hours after the Justice Department appealed Feldman's ruling and requested a stay pending that appeal, Feldman issued a brief order denying the request for the same reasons he gave in his Tuesday decision.

In that opinion, Feldman strongly criticized the Obama administration's moratorium, saying that it was "indeed punitive" because it was too broad, arbitrary and was not adequately justified given the impact on thousands of oil industry workers and on local communities.
The Obama administration can still ask the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit -- also based in New Orleans -- for a stay as it seeks the appeal there.

Administration officials have defended the six-month moratorium as necessary to provide time to investigate the cause of the BP oil well spill and to ensure that other wells being drilled below 500 feet (152 meters) of water are safe.UPDATE 1-US judge denies stay on drill ban ruling | Reuters

Federal Judge Smacks Down Illegal Obama Drilling Ban,

Not so fast brutha' Barry, you're not a dictator yet even though you talk, think and act like you are.

"Arbitrary and Capricious" the judge called IT and therefore by extension, Obama, which just about describes HIM, in 4 words or less.

He also said the Obama people misled Americans.

"the Interior Department also misstated the opinion of the experts it consulted. Those experts from the National Academy of Engineering have said they don't support the blanket ban."

For once, a judge not in the back pockets of the democrats following 'the rule of law'.

Another quick little 'side note' on the spill, Obama's IRS thugs will be extracting taxes from the BP payments if they ever receive one yet have no problem with 20 million illegals not doing so, not to mention all the liberals who seem to exempt themselves in Obama's administration as we all know.

A New Orleans federal judge lifted the six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling imposed by President Barack Obama following the largest oil spill in U.S. history. Shares of drilling services companies jumped on the news.

Obama temporarily halted all drilling in waters deeper than 500 feet on May 27 to give a presidential commission time to study improvements in the safety of offshore operations. More than a dozen Louisiana offshore service and supply companies sued U.S. regulators to lift the ban.

U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman today granted a preliminary injunction, halting the moratorium. Government lawyers told Feldman that ban was based on findings in a U.S. report following the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon rig off the Louisiana coast in April.

“The court is unable to divine or fathom a relationship between the findings and the immense scope of the moratorium,” Feldman said in his 22-page decision. “The blanket moratorium, with no parameters, seems to assume that because one rig failed and although no one yet fully knows why, all companies and rigs drilling new wells over 500 feet also universally present an imminent danger.”
