At the what we thought was the end of the Iraq war and the first Gulf War, the Bush administration allowed many Iraqi's sanctuary here in the United States, and many of those people are here in Chicago, many people here are entirely unaware of.
In this little Trib Video I caught this morning "Weary Iraqi refugees describe how life in Chicago and America has left them with very few options".
Funny, but to me, many middle easterners always seem pissed off that the "Land Of Opportunity" hasn't made them all rich and powerful like they saw on television before they came here is basically what I'm hearing when they talk. On the other hand, note what great English they speak and yet aren't even Americans...better than half the people that live here I hate to say..
But, you get the impression often times that many think that America somehow owes them all something once they cross over the borders be it at the airports, the Legal Crossings or even the drug smuggling tunnels if necessary. Yet it never fails, when the dream turns into average, everyday humdrum 9-5 or even 6 to 6 for 6 days a week like I used to do at the Tribune Co, then it's not so pretty apparently
