One of First African American NFL QB's Killed In Deadly house fire: University Place

This man pictured to the left, JJ Jones or John Jones was a NY Jets back up to Joe Namath back in the 1970's, and was found dead in a house fire up in Seattle this past Thursday and police are now investigating the fire for signs of Arson and other nefarious activity.

RIP to yet another Black NFL QB after losing Steve "Air" McNair as well this last week, the 2 of which who belong to this exclusive club of NFL AA QB's of which only a handful of men are included within their ranks.


Deadly house fire: University Place - KCPQ: "UNIVERSITY PLACE - Q13 FOX News has learned that a former NFL player is among the dead in a house fire in Pierce County.

Family and friends identify the man as J.J. Jones, also known as John Jones. He played for the New York Jets in the 1970's. His best friend, Leonard Elion, tells Q13 FOX News that Jones was one of the first three African-American quarterbacks in the NFL. He says Jones was third string when Joe Namath was the quarterback." more
