Conficker Virus Attacks After Ample Warnings

If you read this blog you were warned all the way back on the first of April in this post here (which happened to be April Fools day as most know) and you like I would have been prepared and could now ignore the warnings that the virus has now begun to belatedly propagate through those computer owners who chose to ignore the warnings given by the boatload to prepare.

So if you're computer is acting strangely and performing slowly for no apparent reason you may be infected if you don't have active virus software or windows updates that are regularly kept up to date. If you do so your chances of getting the virus or a variant of it are highly unlikely although still possible.

You can either download new virus software or use a free online scanning tools from Norton and McAfee in order to be sure that your computer is safe and secure. If you cannot connect to the norton website you most likely have been infected as that is one of the actions the virus takes in preventing you from getting connected to the major security providers making it tougher to remove.

So in that case here's a simple test to check first that will tell you the answer with a quick glance along with a link to Sofpedia to download Mcafee virus scan trial without going to their website to do it.

Also here's the video from my post that day that explains all about the virus/worm and what to do as well

Conficker virus begins to attack PCs: experts | Technology | Reuters: "BOSTON A malicious software program known as Conficker that many feared would wreak havoc on April 1 is slowly being activated, weeks after being dismissed as a false alarm, security experts said.

Conficker, also known as Downadup or Kido, is quietly turning thousands of personal computers into servers of e-mail spam and installing spyware, they said.

The worm started spreading late last year, infecting millions of computers and turning them into 'slaves' that respond to commands sent from a remote server that effectively controls an army of computers known as a botnet." continued
