Michael Steele Sure Stepped In the Pro Life Hornets Nest

Haven't heard anything about this 'til I came across this tidbit at Little Green Footballs early this morning claiming with proof that the new RNC chairman has really crossed the base of the party by claiming he's pro choice! Holy Cow Batman.....

He's got to be a little more careful what he says now that he's moved from Fox News opinion giver on call to the head of the RNC where his every misstep or close to one will become a MSM bombshell like this will and already is on the left wing blogs

Michael Steele Gets on Pro-Life's Bad Side:

Little Green Footballs - "RNC chairman Michael Steele told an interviewer that he supports “individual choice” in abortion, and now all heck has broken loose; Steele is trying to spin it, but fundamental pro-lifers are not amused: Steele, under fire, walks back ‘choice’ remark.

This is Steele’s latest statement, supporting the GOP platform’s call for a constitutional amendment to ban abortion:"

I am pro-life, always have been, always will be.

I tried to present why I am pro life while recognizing that my mother had a “choice” before deciding to put me up for adoption. I thank her every day for supporting life. The strength of the pro life movement lies in choosing life and sharing the wisdom of that choice with those who face difficult circumstances. They did that for my mother and I am here today because they did. In my view Roe vs. Wade was wrongly decided and should be repealed. I realize that there are good people in our party who disagree with me on this issue.

But the Republican Party is and will continue to be the party of life. I support our platform and its call for a Human Life Amendment. It is important that we stand up for the defenseless and that we continue to work to change the hearts and minds of our fellow countrymen so that we can welcome all children and protect them under the law.

  1. I understand Steele is under a microscope, but seriously, is this the best the Republicans can do? This is the second time in the last ten days that he has backtracked. I want a conservative leading the party, not a moderate who constantly backs up.

  2. You know Clay someone said last week that his election was just a week "our black guy is cooler than your black guy" and that's exactly what this was, another affirmative action attempt by square crackers to attract the ghetto vote.

Sorry but that's how I feel after Steele's hip hop the party crap that I blogged about right after his election,
