Fox News Coverage of 'People's Seat' ad

What People are saying about group of which I belong, the Illinois GOP, and our new ad regarding the blago appointment that could also be Pat Quinn's. He is our Lieutenant Governor who is Blago's ally mind you, although he all of a sudden has chucked his old buddy under that all too familiar "Obama bus of change" just like Obama has done to others he no longer needs in this unprecedented power grab he's managed to pull of unscathed so far.

As they say "a friend with weed is a friend indeed" Well, Blago's got no weed left for Obama and his cohorts so to speak, so under that ol' "Obama bus of change" he goes, while Obama skates free as a bird under the MSM cover being provided to him, keeping this and likely any scandal at arms length away from their beloved Messiah.

What the papers and websites are saying :

Chicago Tribune: “Seeking to head off a Democratic power play, Republicans came out with a campaign aimed at tying Democratic leaders to the blossoming Blagojevich scandal while ensuring that the GOP has a shot at the Senate seat through a special election.

“Republican leaders unveiled a blitz of television advertisements, a new Web site—FriendsofBlago.com—and plans to begin making phone calls asking Illinoisans to urge lawmakers to support legislation calling for a special election.” (Ray Long and John Chase, “Illinois lawmakers to sort out Gov. Rod Blagojevich scandal,” Chicago Tribune, December 15, 2008)

CBS News Chicago: “Finally, this is the strongest pulse I’ve felt in the Republican Party in Illinois since George Ryan went off to the slam.” (Mike Flannery, CBS News, December 14, 2008)

Washington Post: “The Illinois Republican Party has launched what they are calling a "grassroots campaign" to push for a special election where Illinois voters would decide who will take President-elect Barack Obama's Senate seat.

“On Monday the party is launching a heavy statewide television advertising campaign and a round of live-connect calls informing voters of the special election possibility and asking them to contact their legislators in support of the measure.” (Kari Lydersen, “Illinois GOP for Special Election for Senate Seat,” Washington Post, December 14, 2008)

Politico: “The Illinois Republican Party today stepped up its efforts to capitalize on the arrest last week of Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich on corruption charges by announcing a statewide television advertising blitz advocating a special election for President-elect Barack Obama's senate seat.”

“The ads come on the heels of a new Web site the party unveiled this weekend that promises to link 12 different state Democrats to scandal-ridden Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich.” (Carol Lee, “GOP starts campaign for Senate election,” Politico, December 14, 2008)

The Hill: “Illinois Republicans are launching a statewide campaign to pressure state legislators to call a special election to fill President-elect Obama's Senate seat as momentum for letting voters decide is growing.” (Reid Wilson, “Illinois GOP launches special election campaign,” The Hill, December 14, 2008)

Chicago Sun-Times: “The state Republican Party ratcheted up its focus Sunday on the proposal by unleashing a statewide cable-television campaign and mounting a phone-lobbying pitch throughout Illinois.” (Chris Fusco, Dave McKinney & Natasha Korecki, “Blagojevich may let voters fill Obama’s Senate seat,” Chicago Sun-Times, December 15, 2008)

MSNBC: “The Illinois GOP has announced it’s running a TV ad on cable calling for a special election, rather than having, say, Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn appoint a replacement if Blagojevich steps down.” (Domenico Montanaro, “Scandal in Illinois: No Resignation Today,” MSNBC, December 15, 2008)
