In most cities this would be the equivalent of doubling the chances for a win in the the World Series, but in Chicago it equates to doubling the chances of losing from both sides of the city thus making it doubly humiliating.
Hopefully that's not the case this time around though I won't exactly be too surprised should the worst scenario occur. So for at least this week at least, both sides of town are winners and have produced playoff teams simultaneously for the first time in exactly 102 years, and with their history's it could be another century before it happens again.
Since the White Sox brought home a series winner a few years back in 2005, I am hoping the two teams both make it to the Series this time and the Cubs can silence those demons and ghosts of Playoffs and elusive World Series' past, the Billy Goat fable and not to mention the more recent Bartman curse forever with a spectacular capper on a season spent in first place the entire season.
Let those playoffs begin, for the Cubs it's tomorrow at 6:30 central on TBS and for the Sox it starts 2:30 pm Thursday also on TBS

Danks, Thome lead White Sox to playoffs --
chicagotribune.com: "There's nothing like defending your home turf on a playoff-type stage.
Just ask John Danks, Jim Thome and A.J. Pierzynski, who each stood tall and strong in vaulting the White Sox to the American League Central title Tuesday night with a 1-0 victory in the division tiebreaker.
The Sox advanced to the postseason for the second time in four seasons and will play AL East champion Tampa Bay in an AL Division Series starting Thursday at Tropicana Field.
Danks redeemed himself for a 7.91 ERA against the Twins in four regular-season starts in heroic form. Danks pitched eight innings of two-hit ball on three days' rest." "Thome accounted for the Sox offense with a home run off Nick Blackburn to lead off the seventh.
Pierzynski, who began his career with Minnesota, prevented the Twins from scoring by blocking home plate to stop a run in the fifth inning.
For added measure, Brian Anderson made a diving catch in center field to end the game and start a wild celebration.
'We're going to enjoy the ride but understand Tampa has a nice club, and we're going to see what we can do,' Thome said.
Thome's home run came on a 2-2 pitch off Blackburn, who had struck out Thome on a checked swing in his previous at-bat and had limited the Sox to two hits through the first six innings.
Thome's homer was the 541st of his storied career and traveled an estimated 461 feet, landing over a screen below the signage board in center field." continued
