Americans of conservative persuasion, myself included, tirelessly complain about the slim choices we have at the box offices and then we are presented with a movie basically saying "come and see me or else". I as a man of conviction and my word will be going to see American Carol and suggest the same to all other conservatives, as if you wish to see any more family films and fare from Hollywood, then you had better do so as well to support these stars and filmmakers who stuck their working necks out to make it, a surprisingly long line of gig name stars really. Reason being is, if Bill Maher and the Fat Slob Michael Moore who is the brunt of the movie's satire can drag more fat American asses into the seats of theaters for the hate America and religion crap they manufacture than conservative family flicks, than you and I can certainly bet that's exactly what we'll continue to get in the future, and really who can blame them?
Here's a "Hannity and A-Hole" feature from a few weeks ago with David Zucker about the film:(Hannity refused to participate and now regrets it he claimed on Friday's show, although Bill O'Reilly did who featured it on his show Thursday below)
‘The Passion’ producer says American Carol movie part of ‘emerging culture war’:
Catholic News Agency "Hollywood, Oct 3, 2008 / 03:48 pm (CNA).- Steve McEveety, producer of 'The Passion of the Christ,' has written a letter encouraging people to see the new movie 'An American Carol,' comparing buying tickets for the movie to casting a vote in the “emerging culture war.” American Carol producer John Shepherd explained to CNA that the movie is meant to make Hollywood question its animosity towards conservatives.
“In the coming weeks your vote is going to play a crucial role in the battle for the hearts and minds of all Americans -- and it is not your vote in the Presidential election,” he writes.
Claiming Hollywood is “holding an election” in which a vote is the price of a movie ticket, he tells readers “your participation is key to the emerging culture war.”
He says the conflict presently centers on two films released on Friday, October 3.
McEveety describes the first movie, comedian Bill Maher’s “Religulous,” as a “militant pro-atheism documentary.”
He also cites Maher’s own anti-religious words: “We are a nation that is unenlightened because of religion. I do believe that -- I think religion stops people from thinking. I think it justifies crazies.”" continued
