For the first time in 100 years the Cuns are returning to post season play two years in a row. That stat alone paints an accurate picture of how much suffering dedicated Cubs fans subject themselves to year after year in support of their sad sack lovable Cubbies.
Now fans can turn their attention across town to the South Side and see if the Sox can too pull out the pennant and giving Chicagoans a taste of something theyve never had in this city of two baseball teams, a cross town AL NL World Series.
In memory of the legend Harry Cary here is an original rendition of Harry singing the Happy and lovable drunk version of Take Me Out To The Ballgame, and it's on to the next step and I'll tell you if the Cubs should make it to the World Series and Win It, The Apocalypse can't be far behind.
Here's funny Harry Parody of a 10th inning type interview by a man who has his Harry impression down to a "T"
And another Audio only YouTube that's a mic of an old Cubs theme song from a few years ago during Harry's reign from the 80's juxtaposed with Harry making some famous calls from the good old days that Chicago fans will remember well titled Go Cubs Go
Cubs win division title :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Cubs: "They did it without their $136 million leadoff man for two months. They did it without their All-Star closer for a month in the middle of the season.
They did it despite ace Carlos Zambrano missing time in June and September because of shoulder problems and despite not getting Brian Roberts and, sometimes, despite themselves.
But on Saturday, the Cubs did it with more than a week to spare — clinching the National League Central championship and, for the first time in 100 years, a second straight postseason berth.
Their 5-4 victory over the rival St. Louis Cardinals, behind seven innings from starter Ted Lilly (16-9) and the shutout pitching of setup-closer combo Carlos Marmol and Kerry Wood, gave the Cubs their earliest clinching party since also clinching on Sept. 20 in 1932.
This time they expect a few more postseason games than the four they played against the New York Yankees that year in getting swept in the Babe Ruth called-shot World Series.
