This would be fine and dandy if we were all living in Saudi Arabia, Iran or some other god forsaken land filled with sand which we're not, so it goes without saying this didn't sit too well for those of us out here that do the best we can to try and counter the MSM led Socialist Tide that's decimating what's left of our American culture in favor of PC this or PC that with no regards to how we Americans feel about these things.
So, just like the massive reaction to the treasonous Shamnesty legislation that Congress tried to slip by us all in the middle of a summer night last year, from the loudmouthed small time bloggers like myself along with the more subtle but powerful websites and conservative talk shows we fired off our objections to this move by Tyson in force and numbers they've probably never experienced.
I'm glad to say that as of this morning it seems we were successful in getting the company to reconsider this move as indicated by the email I received as did I'm sure whoever else bothered to email the company and it's officers like I did, both of which are posted below, which I also posted Monday morning in this post located here with a little photoshop I crafted for the CEO.
Good job to all out there who participated in any way to make our voices heard, it seems to work when we all speak up together.
Here's my email and link to the earlier post:
Tyson Foods and Their Unions Can Kiss My Christian A**
Here's the email I just fired off to this joint and it's leadership, I suggest you all do the same in defense of the country and American Labor:Thanks to your un American and despicable move of removing Labor Day from your employees holiday schedule I and millions of Americans will now successfully ruin this Muslim loving joint right into the ground and bankruptcy as a result.
You will regret they day you bowed down to your unions and the Muslims as the day the chicken company died. There is no more offensive thing you could do as an American company to spit in the face of the United States, it's Christian workers and customers than dropping this day celebrating American labor besides dropping Christmas which I'll bet is next on your blasphemous Haji loving schedule.
Au Revoir, Adios, ila Al Leka' الى اللقاء and good riddance to Tyson Foods. Start looking for new Jobs as soon as possible as this place is cooked.
OK, not exactly my best piece of writing to date but with the rest of you out there they got the message as this is the email they sent out this morning with their new and adjusted policy:

Labor Day Reinstated as Paid Holiday at Shelbyville, TN, Plant
Tyson Foods Requested Change from Union
------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ -------
Springdale, Arkansas - August 8, 2008 - Tyson Foods, Inc. announced
today it has reached a new agreement with the Retail, Wholesale and
Department Store Union (RWDSU), an American union, reinstating Labor Day as
one of the designated paid holidays under the contract for covered employees
in the Shelbyville, Tennessee, plant.
Tyson made this request on behalf of its Shelbyville plant employees, some
of whom had expressed concern about the new contract provisions relative
to paid holidays. In an effort to be responsive, Tyson asked the union to
reopen the contract to address the holiday issue, and the union agreed to
do so. The union membership voted overwhelmingly Thursday to reinstate Labor
Day as one of the plant's paid holidays, while keeping Eid al-Fitr as an additional
paid holiday for this year only. This means that in 2008 only, Shelbyville employees
will have nine paid holidays.
For the remainder of the five-year contract period, the eight paid holidays will include:
New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and a Personal Holiday, which could either be the employee's
birthday, Eid al-Fitr or another day requested and approved by their supervisor.
This issue concerns only the plant at Shelbyville, Tennessee. Labor Day has always been
celebrated, and continues to be, at the other 118 Tyson plants across the country.
The Shelbyville complex employs approximately 1,200 people. Approximately 1,000 workers are
covered by the RWDSU union agreement at that location.
