This Time New Orleans Get's The Picture And Evacuates In An Orderly Fashion

Amazing what happens when the state and local governments get their act together, somthing severely lacking during Katrina that was wrongly blamed on the federal government by opportunistic liberals instead of Chocolate City Mayor Nagin and pathetically dumbfounded Governor Landreiu who were entirely to blame for Katrina's deaths, entirely. Not George Bush as the non ignorant know full well..

This time with the Feds in charge the city is completely prepared, the citizens that wouldn't leave last time are already gone and have abandoned New Orleans forever, and the rest have done the smart thing and left, just as Floridians do year after year after year.

Meanwhile boatloads of Democrats pray for the worst in order to harm republicans and disrupt the convention this upcoming week as the posts below this one will document sufficiently...
New Orleans gets ready as Gustav strengthens -

Yahoo! News: "NEW ORLEANS - A million people took to Gulf Coast highways Saturday, boarding up homes and businesses and fleeing dangerous Hurricane Gustav by bus and automobile as the season's most powerful Atlantic storm took aim at Louisiana.

Even forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami were surprised at how quickly Gustav gained strength as it charged toward Cuba. It went from a tropical storm to a Category 4 in about 24 hours, and was likely to become a Category 5 — with sustained winds of 160 mph or more — by Sunday.

'This is a little more than what we had in mind in such a short time,' said Richard Knabb, a senior hurricane specialist at the center.

Gustav had already killed more than 80 people in the Caribbean, and if current forecasts hold up, it would make landfall early Tuesday morning along Louisiana's central coast, sparing New Orleans a direct hit.

But forecasters warned it was still too soon to say exactly where the storm will hit, and residents weren't taking any chances judging by the bumper-to-bumper traffic pouring from the city. Gas stations along interstate highways were running out of fuel, and phone circuits were jammed.

A mandatory evacuation order was expected as early as Saturday night. Hotels closed, and the New Orleans airport prepare" continued
