Ground "ZERO" is Right, A National Embarrassment

Osama and friends must laugh hard and loud when they see the ridiculous lallygagging going on in the rebuilding of ground zero, nearly 8 long years, almost a decade, to achieve this:

In 1970, 4 years after the groundbreaking at the site this is what was achieved with half the money and half the technology available today:

And now comes word that the snails pace timetable already in place is now going to be scrapped and the Port Authority looks towards well into the next decade to put up the Freedom Tower and it's surrounding architectural abominations to end up with this, nearly 13 years after the attacks?

As I said, this is a national disgrace and insult to the 3000 plus dead in the highest order, and as far as I'm concerned they should'a pulled out Minoru Yamasaki's original plans, made a few adjustments to the wonderfully designed buildings ending up with this design in half the time and half the cost.......... flipping the ultimate "bird" to the terrorists of today and the future:

The Associated Press: Agency wants to throw out WTC rebuilding schedule

"NEW YORK (AP) — The World Trade Center's owner on Monday proposed scrapping the schedule and budget for the prolonged rebuilding of the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, saying nearly every project is delayed and over budget and that previous estimates are unrealistic.

Christopher Ward, executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, didn't set new deadlines and budgets for the multibillion-dollar redevelopment at the destroyed trade center complex. He proposed that a committee of developers and government agencies involved in the project meet to set new, 'clear and achievable timelines' by the end of September.

'The schedule and cost estimates of the rebuilding effort that have been communicated to the public are not realistic,' Ward wrote Monday to Gov. David Paterson, who asked in June for a progress report on the site.

Under current plans, the earliest opening date for the first project at the site — the memorial — is 2011, the 10th anniversary of the attack. The Freedom Tower and other skyscrapers planned for ground zero aren't expected to open until 2013 at the earliest." continued
