This is by the way that fan hating all around a-hole of an individual whom they coddled and rode like a mule blindly for a decade all the way to the bank by allowing what most baseball purists like myself have argued was the outright obscene theft of the "clean as a whistle thru and thru" fan favorite Hank Aaron's home run record after years and years of obvious and admitted drug aided performance from Bonds doesn't make any sense at this point in time.
The damage is way far and utterly irreparably done..
No team is coming within a country mile of the tainted Bonds as evidenced by his availability at this stage of the season, something that should have happened years before the baseball ownership and management whores allowed him to surpass the most cherished of all baseball records, knowing full well the entire duration of the 2nd half of his career the cloud hovered over his endeavor would taint baseball just as it has Bonds' diminished achievement.
The disservice done to one of baseballs all time greats and black superstars of all times, a man who endured the worst of what America had to offer during his home run chase in the seventies is irreparable and unforgivable in the highest order.
Bonds' Name, Record Nowhere To Be Found At AT&T Park -
KNTV | San Francisco: "SAN FRANCISCO -- It didn't matter if it said 'PacBell,' 'SBC,' or 'AT&T' on the outside; to many San Francisco Giants fans, the ballpark on the city's waterfront was always known as 'The House That Barry Built.'
But now, less than a year removed from Barry Bonds' setting of the all-time, home-run record, the average fan will have a hard to finding evidence that the slugger ever played there. His name, his image, as well as any mention of his feat, have been scrubbed from AT&T Park.SLIDESHOW: View Images Of AT&T Park 2008 SLIDESHOW: Barry Bonds Back In The Spotlight SLIDESHOW: Bonds Make First Federal Court Appearance SLIDESHOW: Caught On Tape: Fight For Bonds' No. 756
Wednesday was Media Day at the ballpark; a chance for reporters and photographers to get a look at what changes have been made to the stadium since last season. The NBC11 photographer who attended the event said biggest change was what's no longer there.
During the run-up to the home-run record last season, there were multiple banners hanging around the ballpark celebrating the chase. There was also a mural featuring Bonds running the length of the left field wall. All that is gone. There is not a single visible reference, not even a small plaque, commemorating the accomplishment.
Bonds, who played left field for the Giants for 15 years, broke Henry Aaron's home run record when he hit number 756 on August 7, 2007. Bonds was not re-signed by the club after the 2007 season. Bonds' agent, Jeff Borris, has been quoted as saying Bonds has not retired and would still like to play, but no team has signed him for the 2008 season." continued
This treatment of Bonds who I never could stand as a fan although loved his father Bobby at this stage is so transparent and pathetic that I have completely given up my lifelong allegiance to baseball as mine and America's favorite past time.
And over the years I have become more of a football fan if they don't restore some civility back to the professional football fields of the NFL I will soon regretfully be dumping that beloved entertainment choice as well.
Fortunately football this week took a step in the right direction by finally saying enough is enough as far as these out of control mostly black defensive backs around the league have become with their simply disgusting hair styles, like this idiotically over payed, disrespectful, freakish Bob Marley wannabe D back from Pittsburgh pictured below:
As I said earlier this shunning of Bonds should have taken place long before he was allowed to continue his charade in passing the real king of all, Henry Hammerin' Hank Aaron, a man of unquestioned and well earned unmatchable character is simply beyond ridiculous, the final straw in baseball's pathetic ignoring of the steroid issue as long as they possibly could and did riding his back for all it was worth for the almighty dollar which he was undeservedly paid along the way.
So as my response to that behavior, MLB won't be receiving any of my hard earned money any time in the near future at once sacred Wrigley here in Chicago or Cellular One for that matter as a result of this near sickening episode and forever damaging saga of the decades long steroid era.
The once near religious game that I played until it booted me after high school and it's vaunted records that were once the dreams of all young little leaguers and young Americans like myself pictured below at my peak sports playing age of 13 now mean nothing to me after 40 years.
Absolutely Nothing.Goodbye and good riddance.
