Thank You New York and so long to the so called Perfect Patriots. I am a big Tom Brady fan but I am not a fan of the coach of the team and this offseason there will be much to tell about this spygate situation and he will be under much fire after this loss as I said earlier in my pre game post as will the commissioner for their shoulder shrug on this situation early in the season.
In addition, Prior to the conclusion of the final play baby Bill Belicek and his entourage just left the field barely congratulating the Giants coach but not anyone else for that matter as he just made a beeline right for the exits. What a poor sport and a whiny loser he was.
His ungraceful exit reminds me of the similar exit the so called "Bad Boy" Detroit Pistons executed when they were unseated by the Jordan led Chicago Bulls on their way to their first of many Championships. Isiah Thomas and Bill Laimbeer were forever labeled sore losers after that childish display, as will Belicek forever be marked for todays monumental loss and failure.
Long Live The Underdog as the New York Giants and Eli Manning prevailed as the better team today and in the end thats all that matters! !
Belicek was even less graceful in his obligatory after game interview with Fox which lasted about 1 minute and consisted of about 30 words from the beaten coach.
GIANTS WIN 17-14:
NewYorkPost"February 3, 2008 -- GIANTS WIN 17-14 GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Giants New York Giants pulled off the improbable upset.
Plaxico Burress Plaxico Burress caught a 13-yard pass from Eli Manning Eli Manning with 35 seconds remaining, and the Giants ended the Patriots' dream of an unbeaten season with a stirring 17-14 win tonight.
Randy Moss caught a 6-yard TD pass from Tom Brady with 2:45 remaining to give the Pats a 14-10 lead, but the Giants responded in championship fashion.
The Patriots were trying to become the first NFL team to finish a season 19-0.
The Giants, 12-point underdogs, took a 10-7, third-quarter lead on David Tyree's 5-yard TD catch. Tyree later made an acrobatic reception that kept the game-winning drive alive after a scramble by Manning.
Heading into the final quarter, the Patriots led this physically brutal game 7-3, the second-fewest points after three quarters in Super Bowl history.
The dominating aspect of the first half and into the third quarter was the Giants defensive front, which after getting warmed up zeroed in on Brady and let him have it." continued
