Culture of Corruption Spreads From Political Arena To the Pro Sports Arenas

And I'm not even talking about "Pro" Wrestling here, that's a class in it's own for integrity, pretty much none but is accepted as mostly entertainment.. Not exactly earth shattering news and certainly not a first, just getting caught so blatantly is a first in football.

Cheating within the ranks of the players to get an edge on their opponent, especially when so much money is involved with today's monstrous contracts and endorsements at stake is somewhat explainable although certainly not forgivable. After all, we just watched an admitted cheater happily overtake one of professional sports most glorious records aided by years of breaking rules, or at the very least stretching the truth.

But now the coaching staffs jumping on board sure sends some bad messages to everyone about the integrity of professional sports today. An how long has this been happening, since the Patriots have been at the top of the heap for a while here is a question that has to be asked and answered.

Goodell determines Patriots broke rules -

ESPN - Sources: NFL: "NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has determined that the New England Patriots violated league rules Sunday when they videotaped defensive signals by the New York Jets' coaches, according to league sources."

NFL security officials confiscated a camera and videotape from Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella on the New England sidelines when it was suspected he was recording the Jets' defensive signals. Sources say the visual evidence confirmed the suspicion.

Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including the possibility of docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks" because it is the competitive violation in the wake of a stern warning to all teams since he became commissioner, the sources said. Like maybe one of the Super Bowls they won along the way, playoff games, etc etc.....This would be interesting to know. The coaches and players might just be laughing at getting caught now after possibly getting away with it for who knows how long? The coaches know how long and should be dragged in front of some hearings to be asked under oath.....

But then again, what are we gonna do? Have the professional crooks in Washington investigate the Crooks in Pro Sports?

Quite a dilemma when the lawmakers are among the lawbreakers now isn't it?
