Some Objective Reporting From Iraq?

Many bloggers may know if they follow Michelle Malkin that she is now in Iraq embedded with an army unit in Bagdhad as a result of former CNN man Eason Jordan answering a challenge put forth late last year by she and a few others. This was to send her and crew all expenses paid to do exactly what my headline says, bring some objectivity to Americans and the world who are used to seeing nothing but failure coming from Iraq as a result of the slanted MSM's reporting of the entire war.

They are also on the hunt for supposed Iraqi Policeman Jamil Hussein, who supplies AP with much of that bad news type of information, but cannot be located nor can it be confirmed that they guy even exists, although due to her persistance this development arose days before her trip . More on that is here, written before she left..

Meanwhile, her report for Thursday started like this:
In the slums of Baghdad
Michelle Malkin inIraq: My Hot Air colleague Bryan Preston and I have been in Iraq, embedded with an incredibly dedicated Army unit in Baghdad tasked with training Iraqi security forces (both Shia and Sunni) conducting counterinsurgency operations, and carrying out civil affairs work. Yes, there is danger and chaos and unspeakable bloodshed in parts of Baghdad. Sectarian violence--compounded by everyday street crime and tribal conflict--is rampant.

Corruption, incompetence, and apathy infect the Iraqi government. You've gotten endless news coverage of all that. But there are also pockets of success and signs of hope amid utter despair. I'll give you more details of our embed unit after we get home. We have much to report and will be publishing a multi-part video and audio series, blog posts, and op-eds on security conditions, media malpractice, and the big picture on the war next week. read and see more
Go there to see some nice pictures like the one to the left that show if one looks past the surface, you can find some good news there, although there is no doubt much misery and mayhem as she says, after all there's a war going on there.

Sadly, the children of Iraq will suffer a complete lifetime just like their elders did under Saddam instead of the short term now, that is if the liberals and democrats in this country have their way and prevent our soldiers from completing their gallant mission all the way through, who are intent on leaving it a better place than they found it and are doing a great job trying to accomplish this not easy mission.. Once again go there to look . great pics and reporting as always from fiery Michelle.
