That is for those of my friends out there who may give a damn.lol..... But 1st I have a message for all our left wing friends out there, which I have to admit are few and far between in my neck of the woods. Although there very many here in Chicago and the surrounding burbs in which I reside, very few are friends......friends of mine, yours or this country for that matter as far as I'm concerned.
And to those folks out there in that category, I ask this:
PLEASE Try to remember who the real enemy of America is today while your voting for your favorite America, George Bush, Dick Cheney bashing terrorist friendly congress or senate person into or back into such a position of high power this morning.
You know them, who they are, the ones who vow to protect the freedoms of all the wrong people while they are in Washington over the next few years courtesy of your stupidity today. It only takes seconds to make mistakes that must be paid for with a very high price by all of us. Unfortunately the one man who I would like to see de-elected the most today is one John Kerry, but he is not up for re-election so we'll have to wait a little longer to be rid of him.
Meanwhile, I just returned from my local polling place, spent 10 minutes of my day using those dreaded (not by myself) electronic voting machines for the 1st time in my precinct. I must state whomever has a problem with these machines should be pulled over to the side and checked for US citizenship because the ease of their use could only be hampered by one's poor comprehension of the English language in my opinion.
However, paper ballots were also available for the less computer technology friendly or untrustworthy of our citizenry, mostly the older folks amongst us I would imagine. They were interesting though, as they required one to draw a line to simply complete an unfinished arrow to your candidate of choice and are then inserted into a scanner. my sample ballot here

My next door neighbor and buddy, (who like myself is a 40-ish right wing caucasion male) and I voted next to one another performing our own little debunking experiment with both systems. Me with the electronic and he with the paper ballot that is tossed through a scanner after it's completion. He intentionally left 2 slots marked sloppily on his ballot to check their accuracy and his ballot was rejected allowing him to correct his intentional mistakes, proving wrong one common liberal crying disenfranchising whining point.
I had no problems at all with the electronic version and as he watched me he encountered none either as I questioned him while executing my vote, and he cannot even (more like will not) use a computer believe it or not. Therefore, based our personal experiences today, we both agreed that any individual who cannot complete one of these two processes without error should probably not be voting period, simple as that.
In conclusion I do hope all able and qualified Americans take this day to utilize this privilege many take for granted in this country whilst our brave armed services are half way around the globe and back dying daily to provide these simple freedoms to others around the world that have never known such liberty and freedom of choice. We better come out ahead today I might add or Al Queda will be dancin in the streets along with many of our other enemies of freedom and civility.
