Conservative Chuck Norris On Getting Out The Vote

Contrary to popular belief, not all the hollywood stars of today are loons, although the majority most certainly are proud and loud to be in that category. On the contarary, one of the sane right thinking members of Hollyweird is patriot Chuck Norris and he writes a column for WND today that is very worthwhile reading, particularly if you are on the fence as to whether or not your vote is needed this Tuesday.

Although I am unhappy with many of the non-accomplishments of the current GOP, the alternative is too frightening to experiment with at this crucial juncture in not only American but world history. Therefore, I know I'll be at my local school casting votes at 6 am Tuesday voting not only FOR Republicans, but also Against ALL DEMOCRATS. Hopefully all republicans and many independents will be voting that way as well.

I'd like to cast two or three like we used to do here in Chicago, but we can't do it anymore with these new electronic voting machines yet, regardless of what the dems moan and cry about.

Karl Rove and the GOP haven't sent us all our secret super-crack double votingID's and passwords yet. Word is they'll be ready to go for 2008. The strategery is we have to let the dems win an election or two so they cannot complain anymore that the machines are rigged. The we let 'em have it.

Now, in all seriousness, read what Chuck has to say about his recent trip to Iraq, The raging US culture war and our right & duty to vote if you haven't already.

WorldNetDaily: The battlefields for freedom: "I've just returned from a trip to Iraq after an initial stop in Kuwait with actor Marshall Teague, who you know from films like ''The Rock,'' ''Armageddon,'' and TV programs like, ''Babylon 5,'' ''Sliders,'' and of course ''Walker, Texas Ranger.''

We went to visit and encourage service members as part of a United Service Organization (USO) tour. I'll share some of the inspiring moments in next Monday's article (and maybe a photo or two)!"

As in past years, I left the region more inspired by our troops than I believe they were by me. They make me proud to be American. Their sacrifice also reminds me that freedom is born in adversity and purchased at a price. As I looked in the eyes of these freedom fighters, I began to wonder about the world we would leave to our children, and the nation I would leave to my own children and grandchildren.

A Traditional Warrior Comes Out

I agree with Bill O'Reilly in his new book, ''Culture Warrior,'' that America is in an intense cultural battle that is transcending partisan politics or simple conservative-liberal debates.

At the heart of this war is a head-on clash between traditional and ''secular-progressive'' camps. Will we become a country, in which licentiousness and lawlessness reign? Or will we maintain being a traditional nation, based upon the values and philosophies that our forefathers established? read more
