Yesterday a buddy and I were lucky enough to be at the Chase Auditorium in Chicago to partake in the taping of The O'Reilly Factor as part of Fox's 10th anniversary tour deal now taking place. I have to say it was very fun, and was the first time I ever bought tickets and then actually went to see a political commentator I must confess. It was worth both the time and money to do so as I am a pretty loyal veiwer of Bill O'Reilly and rarely miss his show, although due to my personal schedule I am watching him at 3am Chicago time, 8 hours after each night's regularly scheduled broadcast.
It was also very nice to be around a bunch of civilized for the most part conservatives in this mostly liberal and brutally democrat dominated city for once as opposed to the lunatic left gatherings we so often see reported about, (not in the MSM mind you, but on the internet and Fox), filled with nothing but hate and vitriol for opposing vews.
My favorite part of the whole event besides seeing Bill and the show in person, (who by the way is a pretty big guy in person that you would't know from seeing him on TV), was seeing and hearing Michelle Malkin up close live, (who in contrast is pretty tiny in person and quite attractive, as is Kirsten Powers in all fairness) although not being able to meet her or any of the other participants for that matter, as we were in the 15th row about 75 feet or so away from the stage. The place is pretty comfortably small anyways, so it was an intimate type setting I thought.
The topic that she, Bill & Kirsten Powers discussed in that particular segment was the Ivy League's Columbia University sanctioned supposed Republican gathering that was hijacked and turned into a looney left hate-fest that took place last week. It was brought into the national spotlight once again yesterday and to the chagrin of the University I'm sure by a support rally that these "left wing, hate-filled, over-privileged rugrats" had Monday defending their unexplicable radical and embarrassing actions last week.
For most of the segment all three of them were for once in complete agreement on the subject at hand. One particularly humorous caveat took place when Bill asked Kirsten why right wingers are never filmed or caught in these hateful type demonstrations and confrontations. This after Michelle detailed the litany of hate filled actions by looney lefters at right wing events like the infamous Ann Coulter pie incident, etc. Amazingly, Kirsten agreed and attributed it to the fact that right wingers just tune out and stay away from the left at all costs be it on the air or in person where in contrast the left seeks out such confrontations any time possible. She sure got that right.lo
For those who happened to miss that story or the show last night you can see and read about it yourself below.
Anarchy at Columbia: Protestors Storm Minuteman's Stage (CNSNews.com) - Protestors stormed the stage at Columbia University Wednesday night, yelling, waving banners and ending the speech from Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrest minutes after it began.
As Gilchrest started to deliver his remarks at a speech sponsored by the CU College Republicans, members of the audience began yelling and cheering. He watched quietly as students rushed the stage with fists raised and displayed banners proclaiming, "No One Is Illegal."
According to a statement released by Columbia University College Republicans President Chris Kulawik, protestors took control of the stage for "fifteen chaotic minutes" before security personnel ended the event.
Video of the event posted online shows the protestors rushing the stage. It also shows members of the audience cheering them on and chanting "Minutemen, Nazis, KKK ... racist fascists go away." read more
Last week Captains Quarter's among many others also had a great post and discussion pertaining to this event
FrontPage magazine.com :: Mob Rule at Columbia by Captain'sQuartersBlog.com: "When Democracy for America invited me to participate in a panel debate about the war in Iraq on the fifth anniversary of 9/11 at Macalester College, I wondered whether the staunchly liberal setting would result in some sort of donnybrook due to my defense of the war. I needn't have worried; Macalester proved itself polite, classy, and welcoming, if predictably unenthusiastic about my point of view. No one chased me from the dais, and no one interrupted our debate. In addition Michelle herself had alot to say about this lib howdown and had a pretty funny "vent" addressing it as well here. That I'm sure why she was invited to participate in this show and her blog was were I was alerted to the appearance and subsequently purchased the tickets.
Unfortunately, Columbia University didn't demonstrate the same class and etiquette when Jim Gilchrist tried to speak about his Minutemen organization. Eliana Johnson reports in the New York Sun that a mob of students assaulted Gilchrist, shut down the event, and then cheered their version of free speech:" read more
Now, last week I was pretty inflamed myself after seeing some of these rads on TV that night and meant to blog about it, but decided not to until now seeing as it would be covered at last night's show taping. I dont know how many folks caught this dynamic duo that appeared in Hannity & Colmes last week after this fiasco, but I did and was witness to the most obnoxious television display of college liberals I have ever seen in my 41 years. This ranting little anti war socialist commie twit Monique Dols was the most embarrasssing representative of Columbia U they could have imagined.
Her and her little little group of modern age girly stormtroopers have manuevered themselves right into the receiving end of a lawsuit being filed by Mr Gilchrest. This rancid little girl has quite a lengthy trail of Anti-American writings and actions as I discovered upon googling her name looking for the video of the above mentioned appearance on H & C. Go and get a load of her views of this country she hates so much here.
In any event it was a very fun time had by all I think, and these folks that were part of the topic of discussion need to be looked at very closely as Bill talked about during and after segment. They should be not only expelled from the university for planning the attack as Michelle Malkin revealed during the taping but should have been arrested on the spot and hopefully do find themselves on the wrong side of the above mentioned pending lawsuit.
