In my sidebar you will see an ad that is a link to "Blogs for Heather" run by our friend Chris at Luckydawg news along with others on behalf of congresswoman Heather Wilson, incumbent New Mexico Republican. This race along with a few others are very important to us all for the simple fact that their outcomes have far reaching implications in regards to the balance of power in the house staying under Republican control for the remainder of Bush's term and hopefully beyond.
As if that wasn't enough reason she is under constant attack from Nancy Pelosi and her leftwing lunatic crowd on behalf of a much lesser and indeed scarier candidate, that being shady Democratic Attorney General Patricia Madrid. As you know, anytime Nancy Pelosi is on the side of anything or anybody you know one thing for sure, it's gotta be bad for the country as a whole and a blessing for America's enemies which means it must be fought against with guns blazing.
So, based on that backgrounder, should you hopefully wish to join us in this effort and/or stay up to date on the latest news coming from this race you can either check back here or click here and the folks @ Luckydawg News will be more than happy to provide any answers to the questions you might have.
Meanwhile, here is the very latest on this race from one of Madrid's supporters' blogs discussing a recent looney toons fund raiser she participated in with the above mentioned left-wing queen loon Nancy Pelosi. The blog itself is quite entertaining and to me appears as if it is being run by someone over theres' high school aged daughter. Below are some excerpts of the post pertaining to the above mentioned rally. They mostly contain the typical rubber stamp left wing talking point stuff like the following...(.Bold by me)
House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi appeared at a packed, raucous, rowdy rally at the IBEW hall in Albuquerque yesterday with NM-01 Congressional candidate Patricia Madrid. They rocked the cheering crowd and skewered Heather Wilson's love affair with the oil companies, bigtime. (Click on photos for larger versions.) SnipYou get the picture. If you find that stuff amusing and want some more laughs head over there and read the left winger comments, just like a little milder version of the Daily Kos.(photo caption below is mine, this pic kinda resembles a weight watchers pep rally to me:)Skyrocketing gas prices? Heather doesn't care. She voted to give oil companies massive tax cuts despite the unprecedented profits they're making off the unnaturally (new liberal word??) high prices of oil.Global warming? Heather doesn't care. She's against almost everything that would slow down the process.
Otherwise on a more serious note, fellow "Blogs for Heather" blogger Mario Burgos, also a New Mexico resident, has this info regarding Patricia Madrid and her wise (sarc) use of her New Mexico residents tax dollars to her advantage in this race . Below is an update to the link above for the very latest info.
UPDATE - Madrid Ignores Law
Looks like I may have spoken too soon. Patricia Madrid's behavior may actually be against the law. I just checked an email from a guy who is on a mission to have APS officials commit to the same accountability standards being touted for its students.
In his email he points out there is a law against acting unethically. Let's look at how Patricia Madrid measures up to three of the four sections of this law:A. A legislator, public officer or employee shall treat his government position as a public trust. He shall use the powers and resources of public office only to advance the public interest and not to obtain personal benefits or pursue private interests incompatible with the public interest.Madrid's recent mailing campaigns using public resources while running for office may be argued to have a public benefit; however, the timing of these mailings is such that they definitely also have a personal benefit. Since the mailings are legal "only to advance the public interest," this is a clear violation of the law. read more here
