Only ‘Useful Idiots’ are Blaming Israel

Who can disagree with Jonah Goldberg's headline above or anything contained within the below story itself, as it would be the equivalent of, well I can't tell you because I don't possess the thought process of a so-called "progressive", which would be required in order to explain what causes that behavior, in this case ignoring reality which is staring one right in the face.

This 'useful idiot' phenomenon being so prevelant today on the left in this of all countries on earth during war time no less, is most likely causing good ol' Vladimir Lenin, the author of that concept and phrase, to spin in his tomb with glee while also emboldening an otherwise easily defeatable enemy.

Their only chance for victory in this clash of civilizations is to recruit as many of these idiots as possible, in turn using them to cause uproar and dissent at home which is preventing our soldiers and their commanders from fighting the adversary with all guns blazing. A plan which everyone in the universe besides left wing radicals knows was used to end the vietnam war before the job was finished ultimately delaying the favorable outcome our country achieved in the cold war 20 years later which they also opposed vehemently.

So far they are doing a pretty good job, as they've already co-opted the support of most French, Spaniards half of Britain and 80% of America's democratic party to name the most damaging ones in the West. We all know where all the arabic countries stand I think.

The point here, alas, is that Westerners are suckers. Or, put another way, terrorists aren’t stupid. They understand that images are more important than armies. Heck, that’s why they’re terrorists in the first place.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the global war against Israel. Its enemies understand that they cannot defeat Israel militarily. Instead, they must fight a war against Israel’s resolve. This requires fighting on several fronts. One of them is terrorism. We know how that works: Blow up children. Tear apart buses. Shred wedding parties. Etc."

Another tactic in this “asymmetric” war is to make the Israelis the bad guys for resisting terrorism. Jews have a well-cultivated sense of guilt (take my word for it). And, for obvious reasons, no insult could hurt more than depicting Jews as Nazis. Hence, the nigh-upon global campaign to depict Israelis as the heirs to Hitler. Of course, ad hitlerum argumentation is just the tip of the propaganda spear. “Aggression,” “apartheid,” “racist”: no insult is barred from the anti-Israel script. Terrorize your enemy and make them feel like villains in the process — that’s a powerful strategy.

This strategy depends on the willing support of what Lenin called “useful idiots.” These are the accommodating Westerners — many of them intellectuals — all too willing to take the word of totalitarians and even more eager to believe that the champions of democracy are in the wrong.
