It's beginning to look that the Cook County Illinois Board President John Stroger may not be capable of signing a letter, and much less able in making a decision to have his son Todd try to replace him on the ballot in the upcoming election due to his stroke earlier in the year. (John Stroger was elected in the primary while laying in the hospital days after his unfortunate illness struck)
The well known nepotism in this county of Cook here in Illinois is surely taking a new twist after the attempted propping up of Mr. Stoger for a planned news conference today to name his son as a hopeful successor failed at the last minute. He has not been seen in public for months now, therefore his true condition is a mystery to most voters right now.

Daily Herald | News: "The political intrigue surrounding the office of the Cook County board president deepened Friday when a signed letter from Cook County Board President John Stroger failed to materialize.
Both Stroger’s son, Ald. Todd Stroger, and political backer Ald. William Beavers, had promised a news conference Friday to deliver the president’s letter of resignation and a letter asking that his son replace him on the November ballot for president.
But shortly before the appointed hour Friday, John Stroger’s spokeswoman, Chinta Strausberg, said the news conference had been canceled at the Stroger family’s request." more
