You won't see this in the NY Times

Or on the front page of any other Dinosaur media outlet. But you can bet if it was something done wrong by a US soldier or soldiers (like the Haditha allegations) you would be hearing about it every day ad-nauseum until the soldiers come home.

Newsday.com: Bay Shore soldier returns winning lottery ticket: "On a day when military personnel were honored for making personal sacrifices overseas, one soldier's good deed in a Bay Shore convenience store was a big hit here at home.

Suffolk police said an Iraq war veteran and his girlfriend found a $2,500 lottery ticket in a 7-Eleven store Monday and told police, who tracked down its rightful owner -- who was only too grateful for the deed.

'I definitely feel like I helped somebody out,' said Edward Boniberger, of Farmingdale, who returned from the battlefield in September. 'I had to do the right thing.'

Boniberger, a sergeant with Bravo Co. First Battalion 69 based in Bay Shore, and his girlfriend, Marnie Hall, found a bunch of tickets on a counter in the store on Brentwood Road but couldn't locate Mary Ann Doerrbecker, whose name was on the back of the winning ticket. She knew she had won but didn't know she had misplaced it.

Boniberger contacted the Third Precinct, whose detectives called Doerrbecker, of Bay Shore, and arranged a meeting at the precinct where Boniberger could hand over the ticket.

'She's lucky some honest people found it,' said Det. Sgt. Thomas Groneman. 'One of our military people found something and he turned it in. That's commendable.'

Boniberger is a 15-year veteran of the National Guard based in Bay Shore. "

And while on the subject of the Dinosaur media, Burt Prelutsky at WorldNetDaily speaks to the reasons why he and I along with many others should stop referring to them as the MainStream Media and refer to them as the Stone-age media or some other similar monniker because they are moving closer to extinction every minute.

WorldNetDaily: 'Mainstream' media? Hardly: "Only a dyed-in-the-wool leftist would think to label CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post and the three major networks as the mainstream media. Only liberals who are so delusional as to regard their politics as middle of the road could be that mistaken. Normal people are aware of the fact that these news outlets are not only not mainstream, but are clear out of the water and perched on the far left bank of that particular body of water. However, those of the liberal persuasion have repeated that lie so often and for so long, I'm afraid they've actually come to take it as gospel." more
