Bush is in Chicago today and he basically had the same thing to say he has been saying all along regarding Iraq, patience is needed and progress is being made.
But of coarse our own Illinois embarrassment senator "Suck My D$%^ Turbin" had to put in his 1 1/2 cents worth to throw meat to his treasonous left wing nutjob constituency and take away from the presidents message by aiding our enemies.
He also said much of the same thing; cut and run, boo hoo hoo, spend more money on gay rights issues, same sex marriage, etc etc etc.....
Bush hails 'turning point' in Iraq | Chicago Tribune: "Calling the creation of a new democratic government in Iraq 'a turning point in the struggle between freedom and terror,' President Bush pledged in Chicago today that the United States will do all it can to help that government succeed before reassessing the American military role there.
Bush hailed the seating of the new government as 'a watershed event' in which 'the world saw the beginning of something new—constitutional democracy at the heart of the Middle East.
''This is a free government, under a democratic constitution, and its formation marks a victory for the cause of freedom in the Middle East,'' Bush said to sustained applause by his audience at the National Restaurant Association trade show at McCormick Place. 'We have now reached a turning point in the struggle between freedom and terror.'

U.S. Sen. Richard Durbin said he welcomed Bush to Chicago, but questioned how much progress was being made in Iraq. A real indication of progress, he said, is when U.S. troops can come home.
"There is little evidence (the Iraqis) are prepared to stand and fight and defend their own country," said the Illinois Democrat and the No. 2 ranking Democrat in the Senate.
"There is an impatience," Durbin said of the American people, and he said dissatisfaction over the war is fueling a desire for political change.
Durbin also predicted Senate passage later this week of its own bipartisan version of a comprehensive immigration reform bill. But, he said, there are significant differences between the House and Senate on the issue.
