Dems Stealing Chunks of Liberty On Chicago lakefront: Police hope cameras, bag checks curb violence

If this was a republican doing this the ACLU and the entire kit and kaboodle on the left would become about as apoplectic over this as they were over Waterboarding killer terrorists, even the one of 3 responsible for 911 by their own admission, which president Bush to my delight told an audience last night in Michigan "he'd do all over again to save lives".

Sure sounds a helluva lot better and better each passing moment, as the Obama Romper Room Marxist Kindergarten class is failing all subjects with flying colors, while soaked up to it's neck in corruption and crude oil.

Since last week's spate of violence along the lakefront at North Avenue, Chicago police have installed security cameras and started random checks of bags and coolers for alcohol as people walk into the beach area, city officials said Wednesday.

Ald. Vi Daley, 43^rd, said the random checks were started after several arrests and a shooting between Fullerton and North avenues.

Chicago police officials said the searches target illegal drinking on the beach — the cause of several recent incidents in which beachgoers and police were injured.

Daley said there is also concern about a violent element coming to the beach. She did not think the checks would need to remain in place permanently, noting they could make people uncomfortable.

But she also said police were responding to "intimidating'' groups who wreck the experience for others.

"People should be able to enjoy the beach,'' she said. "During the day I don't think we really have a problem. Everything happens as it gets darker. The climate changes a little bit.'' read more....

So back to Daley taking more freedoms away because a bunch of lowlife scum were arrested for shooting at each others, not beach goer's but lowlife gangbanging scum. So the answer from a liberal is to 'choke off the liberty of law abiding citizens thanks to 1% of the population to try and catch the one percenter's in the act when they'll just go where the camera's aren't pointing just as they do in the city.

They only help after a crime, they never stop them.

And would he allow people like myself to go armed, these gangbangers would have had to duck shots coming from the 'good guys' until the cops arrived with a meatwagon if me and my buddies were on that beach that day, and I've been here a 1000 times since high school.

However, as kids our wonderful parents and other family members usually took us all to Wauconda up north as opposed to the city beaches, this one in particular, made famous in the Blues Brothers which you non Chicagoan's may remember by this scene at "Phil's Beach" cropped from the actual movie ......*check the notes after the pic...

( the boy in the blue shorts in that brief scene, that's my little brother Brent, as he was an extra in the movie by virtue of my mom and her sister going up there and bringing him a few friends on the day they were filming this by accident, when they (he and his friends) were about 12, and this is the scene he was in.

They were each paid a $100 and has pictures of he, his friend Dewey along with Belushi and Akroyd at a luncheon they had for all the extras that day, along with the uncashed check he has hanging in his home office, the kids freaked on it )

Back to the North avenue and Oak street beaches.....

This is about half of the downtown beachfront along with "Oak Street Beach" which is concrete and off in the horizon closer to the Hancock building which this beach eventually "turns into"

Yet the Oak street spot was more expensive counting parking, plus, it's actually 'concrete' which isn't too comfortable but that didn't bother all the people from hanging there every weekend in the summer months. At least it was when I was going down there with my buddies every weekend in the late 80's.

A time when you could bring beer, liquor, food, weed, whatever the hell you wanted to, until the gangbanging Latino's and Brutha's along with NeoScum white trash as well took over the city and turned into the "mexican border" for all intents and purposes with the influx of literally hundreds of thousands of illegals everywhere you turn. Mexican, Russian, Somalian, Ethiopian, Polish, Italian, although most of the Eastern Europeans got here legally since the swim is a little far for them.

It's a 200 meter breast stroke for the Illegal Olympic team which no longer exists since all the runners, jumpers and swimmers are already here sucking off the "pipe" of American generosity.

Allow people to exercise their 2nd amendment rights and all of a sudden Chicago's finest have 100,000 deputies ready to take these losers on when needed. But no, he'd rather take the weapons away from law abiding people to turn them all into easy targets and pushovers for armed scum.

Even Daley's In the Sites Of Feds: 'Go swim in the Potomac and fix Oil Spill'

Daley's all 'bent' because he got a threatening letter telling him to 'clean up the Chicago River" clean enough to swim in while "Obama-BP Crime Inc." cant' even plug a hole 5000 feet down for all intents and purposes because liberal land- drilling opposition caused exploration to have to drill to 'hell and back' to deliver oil.

Chicago IS one of the cleanest hellhole's you'll ever visit. (it's actually a beautiful place minus all the illegals, the welfare state, the homicides, highest sales taxes in the nation, most rabblerousing reverends in one city, all kinds of good shit like that goin on. Mayor Richard Daley says federal officials should concentrate on cleaning the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., and dealing with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico rather than ordering the clean-up of the Chicago River.

The mayor was responding to an Environmental Protection Agency letter calling on the Chicago River to be made clean enough that it is safe for swimming.

"Go swim in the Potomac," Daley said when asked about the federal position during a City Hall news conference. "We're trying to make this river every day more cleanable.

"Let's figure out what the federal government's going to do for us in regards to cleaning all the tributaries. All the rivers are interstate," he said.

"They just can't make an announcement and walk away and say, 'Well, we did it from Washington, D.C. and that's it,' without even talking to local officials, talking to the governor and everyone else," Daley said.

"They send letters all the time. They should get down to BP and start saving the people down in Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama, all their lives and their livelihood, instead

Frankly I'm really shocked oil prices aren't skyrocketing to screw us some more. At least they see how pissed off we would be if they even tried to gouge from this disaster. It also shows there's a shitload of oil down there.

An 80-year-old Chicago man shot and killed an armed man who broke into his two-story house in a pre-dawn home invasion Wednesday on the city's West Side.....

At about 5:20 a.m., the homeowner and his wife, also in her 80s, discovered the intruder entering their home through a back door. The homeowner, who had a gun, confronted and killed the burglar on the doorstep, police said. Cops said the intruder also fired his gun during the struggle.

"It's a good thing they had a gun, or they might be dead," said Curtis Thompson, who lives next door to the couple, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Neighbors described the elderly couple, who both walk with canes, as pillars of the community in Garfield Park, where home invasions have been all too frequent.

Their neighbor, Shaquite Johnson, told MyFoxChicago that the two are "heroes" for fighting off the attacker — and that the shooting means there is "one less criminal" walking the streets.

Cant tell you how I know this, but the dead home invader has an arrest record going back to 1995, nearly 40 arrests, and an IDOC history that should have kept him behind bars!  He lived his entire non prison life about 2 blocks from the victims.

2 dead, 2 wounded in West Englewood Chicago shootings

The Chicago violence and killings mostly among the young goes unabated in Daley and Obama's Chicago last afternoon/evening, as a killing spree took place in the form of a southside Chicago drive by shooting....

"A 19-year-old man and a woman were killed Tuesday afternoon in an apparent drive-by shooting in the city's West Englewood neighborhood, police said.

The man was identified this morning as Shane Burnett of the 6300 block of South Honore Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Burnett was pronounced dead at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The woman, who was in her 40s, has not been identified, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office. She was pronounced dead at 7:21 pm. at Mt. Sinai Hospital."

It's Happened Yet AGAIN....Another boy critically beaten: 'Blood all over street'

And to think the country picked a student of Richard J Daley and company to run this country for the next who knows how long...They can't even manage to keep the streets blood free for a lousy day in the city proper as we've seen kid after kid killed this week in the city, and it's been going on for far far too long.

Maybe just maybe Obama could have finished the job he was doing here (which to many was questionable to begin with) before going on and trying to save the world, because right now, he's accomplishing neither....but things are looking great for him and his buds back home and in DC with him....that's for damn sure. Chicago Breaking News: "A 14-year-old boy in the city's Edgewater neighborhood was beaten and critically injured Wednesday night--suffering massive head trauma, police said.

'He was covered in blood. Blood was all over the street,' said the woman who called police to the scene. 'It was all over his face, arms and coming down the back of his head.'

The unidentified victim was listed in critical condition at Children's Memorial Hospital undergoing surgery, police said.

Unlike the beating of 16-year-old Derrion Albert near Fenger High School--whose death outraged the city--this beating took place on the North Side and at night. The unidentified victim also was hanging onto life, although his skull had been fractured. Police said they had not yet been able to talk to him to get any leads."

Chicago City Government Closed For Business Monday, Due To Budget Constraints (Flat Broke Anyone?)

Not to mention the city proper and 'not it's surrounding suburbs" is right smack dab in the middle of a record setting murder year which I've written about long loud and often,.....

In addition, one most interesting tidbit in that column happens to be that the home district of one Barack Hussein Obama actually leads the pack in murders, as ugly as that is for those of us out here interested in nothing but facts.

So how's that "Hope and Change" crap working here in Chicago you ask? This is how........so to wrap it up class, Obamanomics blows and Obama has essentially turned out to what we mostly figured long before now....He and everything he stands for is Un American trouble.

The City of Chicago will basically be closed for business on Aug. 17, a reduced-service day in which most city employees are off without pay, according to a release from the Office of Budget and Management. City Hall, public libraries, health clinics and most city offices will be closed.

Emergency service providers including police, firefighters and paramedics will be working at full strength, but most services not directly related to public safety, including street sweeping, will not be provided, the release said.

That also includes garbage pickup. Residents who receive regular collection on Mondays should expect trash to be picked up the following day, the release said. Some other customers may experience a one-day delay as collectors catch up.

As part of the 2009 budget, three reduced-service days were planned for 2009, days which are unpaid for all affected employees -- the Friday after Thanksgiving; Christmas Eve; and New Year's Eve. The City Council recently approved moving the reduced-service day planned for New Year's Eve to Monday.

The 2009 budget anticipates saving $8.3 million due to the reduced-service days.

In addition to reduced service days, all non-union employees were asked to take a series of furlough days and unpaid holidays, and most non-sworn union employees agreed to similar unpaid time off.

"Every dollar we save from these measures helps to save jobs, and in the long-term, maintain services for Chicagoans," Mayor Daley said in the release. "This plan relies on most of our civilian employees to be part of the solution to our very serious budget challenges. I want to thank them again for their sacrifice."
