Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd looked at his polls and decided to retire, so Democrats were buoyed by the hope of replacing him with the state's Attorney General, Richard Blumenthal. Credit should go to The New York Times and Raymond Hernandez for digging up something embarrassing. Blumenthal's not a Vietnam combat veteran, as he has implied:
“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008. “And you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it — Afghanistan or Iraq — we owe our military men and women unconditional support.”
There was one problem: Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records. Read more:

For most of the week a certain segment of the American public has been wondering who is the other prominent governor supposedly a client of Eliot Spitzer's hooker, as mentioned in last Sunday's New York Daily News.
If the following report is true, the mystery has been solved: It is evidently Pennsylvania Democrat governor Ed Rendell. Deus Ex Malcontent reports:
I don't normally listen to Opie & Anthony looking for breaking news, but astonishingly that's what I just got. A few minutes ago, the cast of the show on Sirius XM radio were interviewing Kristin Davis -- not the one from Sex and the City, the former Manhattan Madam who spent four months in Rikers in connection with the Eliot Spitzer hooker scandal from last year. There's been quite a bit of speculation that her operation at one time serviced another high-profile governor, besides Spitzer, and up until now she's been largely quiet about just who that governor is.
Well, during the interview, she admitted that someone she called "Governor X" employed her services at least ten times during a year-and-a-half period. She apparently wrote his name down on a piece of paper and showed it to Opie and Anthony, who then proceeded to spend the next ten minutes dropping hints that a 4-year-old could've deciphered.
"What, did he pay her in coal and steel?"
"I guess he had a little filly on the side."

OK, it's time to get our minds out of the gutter, and wait for the chips to fall where they may.

These politicians more and more prove the theory that the conservative and liberal movements needs to remove nearly every incumbent politicians holding office in 2010 including the Messiah, as every time we turn around either they don't uphold their own personal lives they way they claim, lying and cheating their own families as Ensign admits to doing here, which means they wouldn't think twice about screwing you and I, as it usually turns out they are.
As does every single Liberal democrat out there, we know that as a fact. They wear infidelity and deviance proud and loud as a badge of honor. But when the GOP does the same thing they're all just peas in a pod in a different party.
Everybody out here has their own personal foibles and weaknesses to contend with, but when they hold themselves above everyone else by claiming their "family values" as a strength and reason for trust, they always end up being the one's that don't practice what they preach.
Just like the Gingrich's (who I like politically), the Clinton's and Edwards' out there, who fall on the same sword time after time, while the best and cleanest American's shun politics, all because of the scrutiny these low rent cheaters have now caused to be necessary.
They're no different than the liberals they claim to be working to unseat from power, and give us pause to wonder if we can trust anyone anymore to do the right things and turn the society back from the modern day free for all it's becoming more of each day. Politics have become such a bloodsport polluted with money that the best America has to offer wouldn't come near these jobs with a ten foot pole as most couldn't get elected.

And reports are he was pushed into admitting the affair due to Blackmail, which goes to show there's probable a truckload of other American politicians being blackmailed as we speak and why Clinton's Lewinsky affair was MORE THAN JUST SEX.
Not to mention all these other politicos who can't control their hormones that prove people of low character in office threaten ALL OUR LIVES to potential blackmail.

"An influential Republican senator went public Tuesday about an extramarital affair he had with a member of his campaign staff -- a decision that FOX News sources say was prompted by a blackmail threat. Two Senate Republican sources close to Sen. John Ensign of Nevada told FOX News that a former employee had asked Ensign for money in what both sources described as a case of 'extortion.'
The employee, Doug Hampton, worked in Ensign's Senate office, and his wife, Cindy Hampton, worked for Ensign's re-election campaign. Both ceased working for the senator shortly after the affair ended, the sources said, with Cindy Hampton receiving a severance package. The circumstances of Doug Hampton's departure remain unclear."
Ensign, a leading conservative mentioned as a potential presidential candidate, held a brief news conference Tuesday to come clean about the affair.
"Last year I had an affair. I violated the vows of my marriage," Ensign said. "It is the worst thing I have ever done in my life. If there was ever anything in my life that I could take back, this would be it."
Ensign spokesman Tory Mazzola said the affair took place between December 2007 and August 2008 with a campaign staffer who was married to an employee in Ensign's Senate office, however, it wasn't immediately clear whether the Hamptons were the couple in question. Ensign, 51, said he would not mention the name of the campaign aide involved in the affair. He described the woman and her husband as good friends.
"Our families were close," a weary-looking Ensign said. "That closeness put me into situations which led to my inappropriate behavior. We caused deep pain to both families and for that I am sorry."
Ensign made it clear he did not plan to resign. Ensign did not participate earlier Tuesday in a Senate vote concerning the ailing travel industry, an unusual absence considering the topic's relevance in his home state.
He took no questions from reporters at the news conference.
Ensign's wife, Darlene, also released a statement about the affair.
"Since we found out last year we have worked through the situation and we have come to a reconciliation. This has been difficult on both families. With the help of our family and close friends our marriage has become stronger," Mrs. Ensign said.

NYTimes columnist admits using blogger's words: "NEW YORK (AP) - New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd has admitted to using a paragraph virtually word-for-word from a prominent liberal blogger without attribution.
Dowd acknowledged the error in an e-mail to the Huffington Post on Sunday, the Web site reported. The Times corrected her column online to give proper credit for the material to Talking Points Memo editor Josh Marshall.
The newspaper is expected to issue a formal correction Monday. A request for comment from The Associated Press was not immediately returned by the Times late Sunday. more
