Stolen Valor Twilight Zone: Judge: Law penalizing fake heroes unconstitutional

OregonLive.com: "(AP) DENVER - A law that makes it illegal to lie about being a war hero is unconstitutional because it violates free speech, a federal judge ruled Friday as he dismissed a case against a Colorado man who claimed he rceived two military medals.

Rick Glen Strandlof claimed he was an ex-Marine who was wounded in Iraq and received the Purple Heart and Silver Star, but the militaryhad no record he ever served.

He was charged with violating the Stolen Valor Act, which makes it a crime punishable by up to a year in jail to falsely claim to have won a military medal.

U.S. District Judge Robert Blackburn dismissed the case and said thel aw is unconstitutional, ruling the government did not show it has a compelling reason to restrict that type of statement.

The barrage just doesn't stop, and I just don't know at what point is your government considered to be "gone off the ranch"?

Seems as if we're already there.

I guess though it's only natural a liberal activist judge would feel this way choosing to call prosecuting 'war hero fakes' un-constitutional.

Which then means lying to get elected becomes constitutionally protected free speech", and since most liberals are the ones who make their entire political careers on telling and thus 'living' lies, (as otherwise they'd be entirely un-electable, instead of 'mostly' unelectable) they'll be the one's who benefit.

That is of course in addition to the aid of massive, concerted ACORN led voter fraud we're now discovering from the 2008 election, which we all conservatives knew all about then, by the way. [Black panthers blocking voting stations ie: right sidebar]

Cases in point of Stolen Valor by liberals? John Kerry, Tom Harkin, Richard Blumenthal, the list goes on, and on, and on, and on.



This man though is by far 'the cake topper', as he's made a lifetimeout of his 4 staged Purple Hearts in record time back in Vietnam,acquiring one from shooting himself by firing into a rice container and getting rice shrapnel in his ass.

In all honesty, wehave some on the right too, including my own congressman Mark Kirk, and while he's served and served honorably, he too has somewhat embellished his military record, which was entirely unnecessary, seeing that he continues to serve.

Which just goes to show these politicians lie about everything. So why not 'that' too?

This is also so they can run liberal candidates from the military who can then embellish their 'Iraq and Afghanistan' exploits into the next generation, creating a 'fake' liberal contingent of so called 'war heroes' to try and run against other Vets in the future who are 'usually conservative', and who are again, usually 'real heroes'

This way, should the be uncovered eventually, they won't be prosecuted, which usually occurs after they're elected.

So having now done this, they make sure 'lying to embellish one's already fake record and resume with 'war exploits' isn't illegal, which will likely cause a brand new 'flood' of liberal 'Iraq and Afghan heroes''

This in turn will create the need for 'fake awards and medals' for all these 'fake heroes' who will surely appear on the horizon, and now we see how Obama's stimulus works I guess!!

"No One Is Gonna Smear My Fake War Record" Still can't believe that....

I still cannot believe this man, Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal went out and handled this the way he did, almost I would say "extorting" his VFW buddies which is the way the world is, friends help friends in need but usually only when there's something in it for them nowadays sadly.

He's championed their causes in the military (which some few vet dems do to build their "man cred", something of which many seem to feel they lack, ie "Liveshot" Kerry and his Winter soldier lies) and probably for some of the right reasons as well, but he also likely did it because he had to, so no one would question his false "war hero narrative" that he espoused for most of his political career, which apparently no one did.


Furthermore, the government sadly gives them such crumbs in the Veterans Administration and similar agencies, they'll do anything to keep this man in office just to keep helping their cause because he owes them big time now! I'm certain their budget is nothing like the country's monthly food stamp bill.

And if I were them after that snow job yesterday they gave him cover on, I'd do it too.

Look how they hung on to Murtha until he finally lost his marbles with his false "killed in cold blood" Haditha remark which also denigrated the Corp. (That's "core" if you're Obama)

A cause which shouldn't need help, and if properly funded in the first place, these poor men would not have had to "whore themselves out" as they did in that video if you saw it , and would thus lead them to jettison this fake under any other circumstances. A fact that makes this whole thing even filthier than it appears, for manipulating the real heroes to stand shoulder to shoulder with him kind of like his buddies in congress do with their either 'show' or 'jilted wives'.

And it appears filthier than a Richard Pryor or Chris Rock routine.
