As a man who grew up in the seventies, there wasn't a cool kid on the block who didn't have one of these hanging in his bedroom to look at and likely other things that young pubescent boys and girls do from time to time while discovering their sexual sides..
That was of coarse at Farrah Fawcett's peak of popularity as she appeared on that other pubescent favorite of the day, the Original Charlies Angels, which had 2 other babes as every man and boy in America had a crush on one of those three, Farrah, Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson..Another tidbit from that day is something many people today probably have no idea of, in that she was at that time Farrah Fawcett Majors and the wife of another TV star of the Seventies and that was of coarse the Six Million Dollar Man, Lee Majors, he of "We Can Rebuild Him" fame.
That was really the first TV pop culture catch phrase of the era, along with "Up your nose with a rubber hose" of Vinnie Barbarino from Welcome Back Kotter, then there was the Fonz with his famous grunt "AAAYYYY" while holding his thumbs up as Mr Cool of the 50's Show Happy Day's and also Laverne And Shirley as well.
Well today Farrah Fawcett is deathly ill with cancer and I know that'll bring much sadness to many folks my age who grew up in that what I thought was a wonderful era as a 12 and 13 year old, and today another famous line from a sad movie titled "Brian's Song" comes to mind from the scene when Gale Sayers played by Billy Dee Williams says as he accepted the George S. Halas award for the Bears Player of Courage after coming back from a career ending injury thanks to his then dying friend and teammate as he says to the crowd
I love Brian Piccolo.
And I'd like all of you to love him too.
And tonight, when you hit your knees:
Please ask God to love him.
Today it's Farrah Fawcett who needs those prayers so if you happen to be a fan or just a plain old regular human being, say a prayer for a dying Star who is of a sadly dying breed, those celebrities who weren't like these mostly ungrateful, sick and pathetic America haters we have today in that town we must suffer every day.
So again when you hit your knees (except for the Godless liberal atheists of coarse) please say a prayer for a woman who entertained us all and ask God to love her today.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say the 24-year-old son of actors Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett has been arrested on a drug charge just months after he and his father were charged with drug possession.Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says Redmond O'Neal was arrested Sunday on suspicion of bringing narcotics into a jail facility after admitting he was carrying drugs. He is being held on $25,000 bail.Whitmore says a deputy stopped O'Neal, who was at the jail giving a ride to a friend.
O'Neal was arrested in September with Ryan O'Neal and charged with felony methamphetamine possession. He was on probation for a previous drug conviction.
A phone message left for his attorney wasn't immediately returned.

ReplyDeleteThat was a smart move Lucy because your comment was somewhat libelous and personally I would've deleted it anyway, as this post wasn't intended to argue her sexual preferences and activities but to say a prayer for a fellow American who's probably given a lot more to the country than anyone visiting this blog including myself.
