It takes more energy for everything to "re-start" after turning it all off for an piddly hour than it does if the stuff stayed on for the hour and that's a fact. And to those who say "it sends a message" here's my message for all people always thinking of dumb symbolism than substance and telling everyone else what the F88K to do all the time....
